btw...on the Zardes goal it was Villarreals great cross(his assist) that also should be noted. Villrreal is a good crosser/passer of the ball.

Yeah it was a very good ball in.

Anyone think Villarreal may sneak into Klinsmanns plans by the fall? I think he has a very good chance.

That's a bold statement dude but anything can happen I guess. I really like these Homegrown players coming in and instantly making an impact. Fagundez has been starting. Yedlins been great, Najar has already been sold to a good European club, McBean, Zardes, Oneil all getting playing time. Things are looking up.

Yes its been an exciting season for the rookies this time around. There just so much talent around some of the young player it's exciting to see who will prosper and even head to the national team cant wait lol. 2018 world cup is open to anyone of these young rookies. This is why Gold Cup is going to be exciting for alot of MLS youngsters.

By the way Gonzo played as a pure fwd for about 30 mins today and he looked pretty damm good at that position... Should of had a goal maybe 2.. Wouldnt be suprise to see him on top more with Keane injured.. He has a lot of qualities..

If you compare him to our current winger pool he stacks up already. EJ-MLS starter, Herc-MX starter, Gatt Norway, Zusi-MLS cm. If he plays consistently through the summer he definitely would deserve a look. Hes arguably already better than EJ & Gatt

my 2cents:

1. Oscar Pareja in my opinion is the most underrated coach in MLS
2. Vancouver probably wins the award for most underachieving but talented team
3. Robbie Keane is probably more important than Omar at the moment for LA. 0-2 in the past two games with only 2 goals scored

Opara is definitely tapping into his potential. Training with Besler and Collinn has done wonders. Houston's home streak is over

Diego Valeri best signing of the year so far. Will Johnson is on my list of frontrunners for MVP he's been killing it too. I love the way Portland plays.

Opara has a lot of potential; just needed the right environment to succeed.

He could be in the CB mix for the 2018 WC cycle. Could be in the CB mix for the Gold Cup.

Seth Sinovic for my money is the best left back in MLS. Would like to see him called up to the Gold Cup team. Dude has more than enough pace for international soccer. Reads the game well, attacks and overlaps when it's called for, and has good 1v1 defending.

haven't watched too much Opara after the u23 debacle but has his touch improved? because he had a touch of a rapist the last time I saw him. Got all the physical aspects but he still needs to improve a lot. I love the way Sinovic plays would be pumped to see him on the Gold Cup Roster.

You know I really wish analysts and fans would stop predicting Villarreal and Brooks getting called up to the Gold Cup. Those two players will be with the U-20's. The two tournaments overlap.

The U-20 WC will be physically and emotionally draining. There is no need to immediatley bring those two into another physically and emotionally draining tournament. I would imagine that Hertha and LA wouldn't be to appreciative of having their players called into back to back tournaments where the risk of injury will be higher due to physical and emotional fatigue.

Hertha Berlin will be kean on having Brooks back after the WC to start preparations for the upcoming Bundesliga season. While Bruce Arena would probably love to have Villarreal back after a month of internatiional duty with the U-20's.

It's just not feasible to have these two pulling that amount of international soccer this summer.

I understand that a lot of fans would love to see these two in Klinsmann's plans sometime soon, but the Gold Cup is not the time to do it.

I would say fall WC qualifiers are more likely, especially if the USMNT has qualification wrapped up by September.

Brooks I could see by September WC qualifiiers, Villarreal maybe October.

Someone from Columbus please tell me that Bobbie W's time in charge is nearing an end.... The Crew have only beaten DC and Chivas this year (Hardly an accomplishment) and have managed to go three of their last four games (two at home) without scoring. Columbus is going nowhere under his leadership, why does he still have a job?
