So then what's bogus here - the assertion that Americans soccer players are more likely to tear their ACLs?

Gatt was just on twitter and said hes having another ACL surgery. He said his last surgery didnt heal correctly.

Sad news for sure and cant see anyway he plays for USA going forward. Between his age, injuries, and upcoming other players I think its safe to say that his US career is over before it even had a chance. Maybe in a couple years he'll cmoe back to MLS and pull a Charlie Davies.

Yep, Gatt is done with the USMNT. Just another "what could have been" US player. I don't see him in the same category as Charlie, who was always a hardy player on the pitch, but just had a really really bad off the field accident that put him out of the game for years. Gatt is more of a John O'Brien Stu Holden player, who you know once they step on the pitch it is only a matter of time before they break or tear something.

Poor guy. Maybe it's time for him to start working on his coaching licenses.

Josh Gatt starting his comeback today. He is in Moldes 18 man squad on the bench. Good luck to him.

Didnt play but just making the gameday roster is a huge accomplishment for him. I still say he comes to MLS this winter after this last Norwegian season where he makes a handful of appearances off the bench. Didnt he play at Michigan growing up? Not to far to the new Minnesota United team. Would be a nice veteran for them to add to their expansion roster for their inaugural season

MSantoine - I can't see anyone from a first division league (MLS included) willing to put this kid under contract unless he can stay 100% healthy for the entire season. He's already been sidelined for 3 years from 2 knee injuries. If he can't find a way to say healthy for this season the risk would be to high for anyone to take a flyer on him. Between limited roster spots as well as financial expenses if he can't prove he's fully fit and can stay fit it would be difficult to justify extending him a contract.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised if MNUFC try to sign him.

Gatt played with Molde 2 yesterday and scored and had an assist. Its good to see him moving again. It wont be long until he is playing with their first team.

Uhh I didn't read that anywhere. He just came off at half time after scoring his penalty.

Oh I get it now, Sarcasm at its finest! I can tell from your previous posts that you are quite the optimistic.

GATT into Moldes game today. From reports he hasn't lost any of his speed. Seems closer to getting a USMNT call up versus Gyau.
