I am more excited about the U-20 WC then I am about the upcoming WCQs. Do I have my priorities straight?

Ill second that motion

U-20 kids have better possession skills than the senior team. They will go at players, they attack. They are not afraid to take on 1 or 2 players... The only negative marks is they dont have the grown man strength and hit the deck too easily

Lack of scoring on the USMNT ? Why ? No creative players and nobody willing to take on a player while in possession. You realize that when you make a move to get past 1 or 2 players, scoring opportunities open up!!!

Walker Zimmerman made his MLS debut tonight.

Great news for the US U20 team as he returns from his groin injury

Good to see Zimmerman getting his debut. The US U-20 defense is looking like it will be stacked at CB this summer i.e. O'Neill, Brooks( if reports are true he will choose the US), Zimmerman, and Payeras. Wow all 4 have a lot of talent with Brooks as the crown jewel.

I heard Payeras has a good camp but I'm not sure how highly he is rated.

I think it's a toss up between Torre and Payeras. I really like Torre, but Payeras is pretty good, and playing professional ball right now.

Either way Payeras or Torre; I don't think either start in the WC.

The question I have is whether or not there is a need for 4 pure central defenders on a 21 player roster (including 3 GKs). I'd rather take 3 and let Stanko play CB if needed.

I don't know much about Payeras but can't Torre play left back too? If
He was brought to be Oceguedas back up he could play in the Center if necessary. Who else plays left back? Didn't Serna play LB in college? I don't remember. I do agree with Bshedder tho that when your limited to a 21 man roster I don't know if you can afford to fill 7 spots with just CBs and keepers

Gerard Deulofeu of Barcelona's B team signed a 4 year contract with the first team with a 35 million euro buyout clause. He is on Spain's u-20 roster for a friendly tomorrow against Paraguay and it looks like he'll be playing in the u-20 world cup next month. He just turned 19 two months ago and has been tearing it up in Spain's second division with 18 goals and 6 assists in 31 matches playing as a winger.
