Uhm, Chivas USA just traded their best attacker away.

Juan Agudelo is now a Rev.

Don't know if it was a straight up trade for another player or what.

But New England now has a very capable striking corps.

My guess Agudelo was not going to resign with Chivas.

Great for Juan.

He's not going to sign with anyone in MLS. He wants to go to Europe. He hasn't hidden this fact.

This was not what I had in mind. If/when he makes it to Europe he'll be very far along in his development. You'd think he would've figured out by now that the MLS isn't the best fit for him. I don't know why he didn't wait til his contract ran out and tried his luck in Europe. He always could have come back to the MLS if it didn't work out. My guess is he wants to play it safe and get PT to help his chances for the World Cup. If I were Klinsmann I'd tell him to think about 2018 and make the best possible long-term career moves.

His contract isn't up yet. Essentially New England is borrowing Agudelo until his contract runs out. Which is later this year.

Yep. I have no intention of ever watching any Chivas USA game unless they are playing Seattle, or a team I don't mind watching like LA or Dallas.

Love it. Bengston, sene, and guy shouldn't be starters. Agudelo can lead the attack with fargundez and Nguyen supporting him. For a team that's scored 3 goals all year a great move

What are you talking about Sene shouldnt be a starter? Hes been one of our best players since he signed if not our best player. He got injured and missed some of the end of the season but was quality while healthy. Hes finally getting fit again and every time he comes on the attack livens up.

Now Im absoutely shocked this trade happened. Happy but shocked. I guess Chivas wanted something before he left but he was theyre best attacker. I wouldnt mind seeing him up top possibly paired with Sene or perhaps on the wings. Hope he does well for us.

Agudelo will have to show well for the Revs in order to get a good European move IMO.

Moving to Celtic in the crap SPL is not a good European move.

I want Agudelo to renew his contract in MLS and stay here for the next number of years. He will get pt and start most games, something that is not guaranteed in most european venues. Unless its a near perfect move he should stay....the SPL is not as good as the MLS, dont use the excuse of the few UCL/EL games.

Even if he moves to Scotland he has some competition ahead of him, here he will be a starter. Unless a player is scoring 15+ goals a year(or playing great football ex: omar gonzalez) for a few years they should not leave.

I hope he stays.

I agree I would rather see him sign a two or three year contract with MLS. He needs stability for a few years.

He has yet to prove he can be effective for a full season in MLS. Perhaps he should prove that first before thinking he is a hot commodity.

With that allocation money there are two possible scenarios for Chivas.

1. Using the allocation money in a trade to acquire Herc Gomez' rights from KC. This is the one I am leaning towards.

2. Using the allocation money in a trade with the Whitecaps for Omar Salgado.

Wouldnt mind seeing the Salgado move just because he needs some playing time. I dont know about the Herc idea tho. Would he really trade Santos for Chivas USA with their 500 fans and quirkey management.

Chelis and Herc have a long standing relationship. Chelis gave Herc his chance in Mexico, and I believe won the Mexican scoring title under Chelis.

Herc has recently stated his desire to return to MLS, but he does not like Peter Vermes and KC.

Santos Laguna is probably not going to resign Herc.
