Haha- You beat me to it again.

Don't know much about him, but signing for Leverkusen is a big deal.

Born in 1995. Don't know his position either.

But now I will be following him a bit more closely.

Can we put him on the 2015 U20 team now or should we wait?

Joking aside its great to start seeing young americans get into foreign academies like Pelosi, Green, Holmes

We always talk about the American embarassment, I mean the American Pele -Fred Adu. Why don't we talk about the American Messi? - Ben Lederman?

Maybe because he's a 12 year old so hes 5 years away at a minimum (hard pressed to find U17's making national teams anywhere these days) of having an impact. A lot can happen in 5 years. I think Illoski is worthy of some discussion as he did somethings no American ever did before with the Nike tour

Agreed MSantoine.. Too early to discuss Lederman. Let him have his childhood, US Soccer isn't going anywhere. Illoski will have a nice little career somewhere as well. I think those types of competitions to identify talent should go on a bit more frequently to ensure that these kids don't slip through the cracks.

A 12 year old? Seriously? We should have laws against talking about 12 year old soccer players. Maybe already covered under some kinda child privacy laws? Pervert.

Like most have said...way too early. Though if you have read articles on his play for the youth Barca teams, he would be more inclined to the the American Xavi/Iniesta not Messi.

messi at 12 was already playing with the under 21s, at 15 he could of started for the first team for any club in the world. idk about ben lederman he is only 12 so idk much about him yet. maybe 5 years from now. Adu was 14 when he was playing with the first team but we all know his like 30..

When Adu joined MLS at 14 MLS was not a good league. If Lederman joins the Welch league at 14 would you be impressed? Messi was 17 when he broke into Barca. And he's the best soccer player of the last decade. So again, lets wait until 17, or at least he plays for the U17's before thinking about him

Where is Bshredder? He always know something. Player position, player condition. Or something else.

Top drawer says he's a foward, another article says midfielder/foward.. If all goes well at bayer lev. then he'll be pushing for a spot on the 2015 u20 team. Which is stacked with talent.

yes the 2015 U-20's are going to be stacked at every position

Here is a look at some of the players in the pool:

GK: Steffen, Turner( atletico Madrid), Horvath, Castano

Defense: Haberkorn, Miazga, Requejo, Allen, Moore, Markey, Hayes, Sady, Amick

Middies: Gall, Delgado, Flores, Cannouse, Thompson, Pfeffer, Henkel, Acosta, Scott, Sonora

Attackers: Green, Iloski, Lopez, Spencer, Arriola, Moreno, Rubin, Koukladas, Dhillon, Bailey

I am sure a few more talented players will crop up in the next year as well.
