I think people need to chill. Obviously Ramos is doing the best he can with the huge player pool that is connected with the U-20's right now. Not everyones favorite flavor of the month is going to get called.
There are two more camps prior to the WC which means some players that haven't been called in may get the call-up.

It's not like there is a U-20 camp every week. Oh and Monterrrey wasn't about to release Hernandez for that little get together last week. Hernandez is very much in Monterrey's first team plans right now.

Exactly. And for meaningless camps to a player starting to earn 1st team minutes he'd probably decline anyways.

True, what we need now is contact with this player. We may or may not hear about this happening. For all we know, it happened last week.. or not at all yet.

This kids good enough to play for Mex u20s.. he's already said he'll play for whoever calls him first. There coach could very much give him a look. Should most definetly be called up to next camp.

Alonso integrating into Monterrey's first team. He got his second start in Copa MX at RF/RW in a win for Monterrey last night. I Still think this guy has a lot of talent regardless of his average showings for the U-20's.

He's very inconsistent. I've seen times when he looked good and times when he looked average.

Last night he looked average and the Copa Mx is usually for young/B-teamers

I am not closing the door at any rate on him and he's only 20 years old but he has a lot of competitions.

In this age group (18-21) at forward you have: Paul Arriola, Bobby Wood, Jose Villarreal, Jack McInerney, Juan Agudelo, Conor Doyle, and Alonso Hernandez. All of the above are seeing first team professional minutes. Once flirting with Germany is over, Sean Parker an Julian Green could (and will likely) enter the picture. This doesn't mention the good players in college or who always tend to emerge later.

In the age group just ahead of these guys (22-24) you have Jozy Altidore, Aron Johannsson, Terrence Boyd.

Is Alonso Hernadez on the radar? Absolutely. But the U.S team is tough to make, and that's a good thing.

Yep I would have to say the FWD depth chart will be quite a talented bunch in the 2018 WC cycle. You could also add Wooten to that list as well.

Check out Alonso Hernandez's terrific play last night in the Copa Mexico win over Puebla to set up and assist the game's only goal.

For me he was played out of position for the US U-20's. He is much better as the withdrawn FWD/CAM. Good on him continuing to shine for Monterrey. Hopefully he will get more minutes in Liga MX.

Are you suggesting that he should have played CAM ahead of Gil? The U-20's played a 4-3-3, maybe if they used a 4-4-2 he could have been the second forward but in the 4-3-3 I don't see him as the point of the three man midfield, do you?

4-3-3 on top of general aggressive strategy will hurt US Soccer

What I am saying is I think the strict adherence to the 4-3-3 is hurting the youth teams.

He has talent, and I hope he continues to progress.
