Congrats to El Paso native Jaoquin Alonso Hernandez for making his first team debut last night for Santos Laguna in 1-0 lead over Monterrey. The 19 year old attacking midfielder came on in the 63rd minute

Actually he made his first team debut with Monterrey not Santos Laguna.

I wonder if he is on Ramos' Radar for the U-20's?

Do we know anything about him? Does he want to play for the US? I know he has been banging in the goals for Monterrey's U-20 team. Is he on Mexico's U-20's Radar?

Tweet from Tom Marshall: "Alonso Hernandez just told me he would love to play in the U-20 World Cup. He's never been called into either the US or Mex squad."

With that turn and shot you can tell this kid has talent.

I have to add that I love Mexican commentary. So much passion. We need a few passionate blokes for MLS.

i'd definitely call him in just to get a closer look at him, even if he is not good enough inviting him to the training camp could get us some good will points

I heard of him before.. He was scoring several goals for the sub 20 of monterrey... Those 2 teams go at it, is like a rivalry. How ironic they will be playing in,,the final once again. Idk if theres a camp in may but if there is i doubt monterrey will release him since they will be playing in the finals, and maybe league/playoffs.

I'm excited about him already...though it sounds like he would play for either team. I really hope we get him. As anyone seen him play? Playing in Liga MX is a huge accomplishment for an American teenager.

you are probably right but let's see if he continues to start for Monterrey. If he doesn't he could be released for the May camp because the experience gained at a world cup event is priceless

actually according to Soccer by Ives, the loss to Santos could have knocked Monterrey out of the playoffs but i know very little about Liga MX except about the Americans that everyone on the sites talks about

If we use him as the middle of the top 3 in a 4-3-3, or the 1 in a 4-2-3-1, he has MUCH less competition. I think in that game he got moved to a striker position for some amount of that game.
