BPL games will be shown on NBC channels starting next season, good news to me. It might hurt the MLS tho, I dont watch MLS anyways..

Thoughts?

Agreed.

But it's the most marketable soccer in the US (along with the Champions League) so I'm glad to see some games on. I'm always glad to see soccer games on TV in the US. The more people watch the sport the more they'll realize how good it is.

I am nervous about how this works out with the MLS though. We need the MLS to catch on and get good TV ratings but the presence of better soccer doesn't help.

These games will be televised earlier than most MLS games. So not necessarily direct competition although the noticeable talent difference could effect people watching the MLS.

This is great news for the future of this sport in this country in my opinion. Not everyone is enough of a soccer fan to pay for 'sports channels' to gain Access to fox soccer. This will ignite a following over the years.

My question to the MLS is why it isn't shown on tv hardly unless you purchase the MLS package. I'd watch many more MLS games if I didn't have to pay specifically for the MLS.

Either the networks wont pay MLS what they want for rights, or they wont guarentee enough games on the non-cable stations. Im sure NBC has made offers and would have no problem giving them the NHL treatment. MLS might not want that.

Its definitely a good thing as saturday/sunday morning EPL can become the new generation sat morning cartoons for fathers and sons to watch together.

The play level in MLS is on the rise. I don't cringe when I watch it anymore. I think people will get behind it in time.

Yep. My cable company got rid of goltv so I am unable to watch the bundesliga now.
