I should've read the roster report. I streamed the game and the Video quality wasnt that good so i couldnt even see the bench players. Bahia got smoked 5-1

I agree that O'Neil is probably a better overall CB than Zimmerman but it's about pairing skillsets.

Brooks is an exceptional CB but he's not perfect. Despite his height, he's not commanding in the air. The probem is that O'Neil isn't commanding in the air either. Zimmerman is.

When you look back at the USMNT draw in Azteca, Besler and Gonzalez worked so well because one could cover for the other's weaknesses. Besler isn't great in the air but Gonzo was terrific in the air. Omar cleared tons of set pieces away. Meanwhile, Besler allowed the US team to play out of the back better.

I like O'Neil and I love Brooks as a player. But the two of them won't work. The US U20s will need a central defender better in the air and Zimmerman is best U20 defender in the air by far.

Hmm, maybe. O'Neill was pretty dominating in the air during the U-20 WC.

I just don't see Zimmerman starting if O'Neill and Brooks are there.
