Awful.

I had hope that Rowe would be alright but he has a long way to go.

New York is a trainwreck that gets attention for being a trainwreck. New England is a blackhole.

But, but, I thought Benny Feilhaber was the savior. Surely the God of Soccer that he is he could turn that team around.

(Slightly annoyed by Feilhaber fanboys)

Friedel fires after 2-8-2 start. 5-0 loss to Chicago was the last straw

Wow, this thread is from 7 years ago and it is more true now. Franchise is a dumpster fire, kind of the exact opposite of the owner's other franchise in the same building. I was at the first ever Revs home game, it's depressing how bad they are. So of course I cheer for the Rapids now who are no better. Bring back Paul Keegan!

MLS should evaluate all land deals that Amazon wanted to build their new HQ2.

Two great spots in Boston and Chicago for new stadiums.

as a giants fan who has lived in new england most his life I might be slightly biased in my distaste towards Robert Kraft, but he is holding the new england revolution hostage. He takes a loss on the Revolution every year so he can write it off as a tax deduction, and then pay less taxes on his other income, aka the pats... he has had offers to sell but he will never, because he doesnt care about the team, theres only one team he cares about, and thats team Brady, not even the pats

Bruce Arena is apparently the answer. At least they're not the Rapids.

Arena has a great record in MLS. That's actually a very astute hire for them.

A good hire.
#1 He knows the league
#2 Players respect him
#3 Other coaches respect him
#4 Can make demands that other coaches probably could not. He demanded a SS stadium be build in Boston and it is going to happen.
#5 This hire shows New England fans that owners do care about the team.

New England is 4-0-4 since Arena took over. What a huge difference a Coach can make. This is Similar to what Mathias Almeyda is doing in San Jose.

Lets go Revs!!! my old academy club!! despite the poor management there is so much talent around the boston area. Really something they have failed to take advantage of, but could still benefit from in the future

I admit I was too quick to dismiss Arena as having lost it.

So now 10 league matches under Arena and zero losses. New England above the playoff line. Two months ago I would have given them a zero chance of making the playoffs.

I find is interesting that Brad Friedel had nothing but negative things to say about his players including questioning their work rates etc. Arena has said the opposite saying the winning streak is due to players working hard in practice etc.

Personally I think that Friedel is too much of a Euro-snob to coach in MLS. He should look for a coaching job in Europe, I could see him successfully coaching in Scandinavia to start.
