On the day after his 18th birthday, Ole Gunnar and Molde sign Ben Spencer of the US U18 national team.

Any chance he sees any minutes or is he one for 2-3 years down the road?
I mean this in simply a playing standpoint I'm not one of those people who are already considering him for the Nats.

Was Spencer destined for Europe and bypassing MLS or will Chivas greatly regret not trying harder to home grown him

Don't know how upset MLS should be by missing out on another talented prospect.

I think Spencer what really made Spencer want to go to Molde is that Ole Gunnar heavily recruited him. He's not your typical coach

What jackface said. Also BShredder you said he's not your typical coach, how so? I don't know a ton about his coaching style but he certainly has taken a liking to American talent which I guess can be a good thing especially if he takes a higher profile coaching job and goes after Americans there.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was rumored to take over Aston Villa last, so it looks like he will prob go to a Premier League team if he takes another job, which would be good if he does bring in americans. Tho he said if he took another job the first player he would buy was his center midfielder Magnus Eikrem. Im sure Americans would follow..

Molde have decent talent, nothing special. They're just very well coached.

As long as OGS is the coach, they probably beat a good number. I still don't know if they would win the MLS Cup but it's possible. Without OGS, they wouldn't even make the MLS playoffs.

so in other words Gatt and Spencer learn all you can from OGS and then get the hell away when OGS leaves
