He'd have to battle Uchida at Schalke for a starting role. That is going to be very difficult, he is better than Timmy.

I think reasonable minds could differ as to whether he is better, but agree that Timmy will by no means just waltz into a starting spot.

Fhink it will only benefir a player like Chandler who has really no competition at Nurnberg to challenge himself against a player who equally as talented or maybe more such as Uchi
da. it will only make him a better player.

If he doesn't make the WC team, and other players at RB get exposed, there will be mass inquests as to why Chandler was left off.

I personally would like to see Chandler on the team. I think he gives the USMNT a whole new dimension at the WC from RB. It allows Fabian to slot over to LB and Cameron to move to CB.

Agreed. More lineup options are better. Flexibility helps with the inevitable injuries or suspensions that pop up in a tournament.

Chandler got very exposed against concacaf opponents. The same will go the other way if he is called and starts in the wc and gets exposed there will be mass criticism as to why Jurgen called a player that had not played all year long with the mnt.

Everyone got exposed in the game you are talking about.

And national teams rarely play together as well. The pre-WC training camp and friendlies are plenty of time to gel.

Eintracht Frankfurt is said to be really interested in Chandler. He was a product of their youth system before going to Nurnberg.

I say Chandler and Yedlin both make it. Jurgen needs options on the RB position and he knows it. Chandler for defense against technical skill and Yedlin for pacy wingers and crosses. I dont see any other candidates that are more quality at right back then these two.

Bild is reporting it will be a done deal prior to the World Cup. A little surprising to see two of our young potential breakout players not use the World Cup to build up more value in themselves. They are being very cautious in signing early.

Still a great move for Timmy.
