Chandler is out 8-10 weeks with a lateral meniscus tear. At the earliest Chandler would be back by mid April more realistically the end of April or early May.

Well there goes him going to Brasil. Looks like it will be a battle between Yedlin and Evans for the second RB spot.

That makes it End of March, Right?
We have a chance. =)

Hold up. I feel like I'm bummed out for a different reason than everyone else. I'm seeing a lot of "Chandler is needed as Cameron's back up" or "Chandler is Cameron's competition". But with our current situation, we may as well not have a left back. That was the spot I was hoping he could fill for us. We would match up against any wingers with Cameron and Chandler defending them. This is the most detrimental injury the USMNT will have to cope with.

I agree I currently had Cameron as Chandlers backup. if he kept playing the way he was he would no.doubt start in the wc. the good thing is that he wont be out a long time he can still make a late push and possibly start. He will have around 2 months before the wc to get back to match fitness. Jones should be more worried. I just hope we dont get no more bad injuries in the next 4 months. We need everyone at 100% for the wc.

I don't know why you guys were so convinced that Klinsmann was going to bring him back into the mix. JK clearly holds a grudge against him.

IMO, I highly doubt he would have any grudge against any player(s), unless he had specifically stated that he holds any grudges or if you have a link which states that. He comes across as more of a pragmatic person.

do you think Klinsmann was planning on using Chandler as a LB?

Impossible to say what Klinsmann was planning. But it makes sense doesn't it? With Cameron playing so well for Stoke, you want him on the field. Chandler plays rb but has proven he can play on the left as well. It just makes sense.

If anything march was probably klinsmanns best chance to integrate chandler back into the team. However Klinsmann would be crazy not to name chandler to the 30 man roster and not the world cup. By then we can tell if klinsmann has a grudge because chandler should be in our starting 11 for brazil at right back or left back hes too talented to leave out.

Apparently Chandler is subject to interest from Schalke. Very interesting move would prefer it to Stuttgart, plus he finally can prove himself on an upper-echelon Bundesliga squad.

Do we think he would become first-choice RB? They have Uchida, who seems like a lock in that starting XI.

Chandler at Schalke would be fantastic. How old is he again? 24?

We all should be cautious about too much, too soon with Chandler after his knee injury. Same thing with Omar G. at this upcoming camp. If guys go too hard (which they understandably will try so as to convince Jurgen they are WC-material) they will re-injure themselves. Timmy I am afraid is one of these, let's hope not. But if he's not running and cutting 100%, Timmy is of no use to the USA this year in Brazil. I hope he can re-integrate himself and he is healthy though, what a cross he has on him.

Hate to see an injury, but Omar injury is blessing in disguise. Try Cameron or Goodson to partner Besler.

He'd have to battle Uchida at Schalke for a starting role. That is going to be very difficult, he is better than Timmy.
