I really only wished we had a healthy Fabian, I would have loved to see what a Beasley at LB and Fabian at LM could do...I'm not holding my breath on ever seeing that. I will never like Castillo, he is just too nervous for cut throat games. That won't change in his personality type.

Wouldn't we put Fabian at LB and Beasley at LM? Considering those are their natural positions? Beasley played very well but that was at home to Costa Rica in the snow. I think we'll normally find him a defensive liability. Not to mention this was probably a one time thing. The most important part of his game is his pace and he'll have another step or two by 2014.

Also, anyone think we might see the return to the 4-4-2 diamond? I think it's possible, it's a more defensive lineup and JK might like that. It'd be this:

Gomez Altidore
Dempsey
Jones Bradley
Edu
Beasley Goodson Gonzalez Cameron
Guzan

I hope he doesn't because it means there's a lack of creativity and distributional ability in the center of the park, meaning we won't be able to maintain possession (that's usually the problem when we use this formation). Of course if we swapped Edu for Klejstan and put Bradley (or Jones) back as the DM, that would fix that problem. I think that would be a very solid lineup but I doubt it'll happen though, I don't think Klinsmann is a fan of Klejstan. The other problem with it though is that in a 4-4-2 diamond with CM's, you need to fullbacks to bomb forward to provide width. Beasley is good for this role (as are Johnson and Chandler) but Cameron isn't. So I'd prefer the 4-5-1 from last time (without Zusi) over the line-up above.

Incorrect, Fabian's natural position is LM, as he has stated himself. Beasley's natural position is LM, but at his age, he has not impressed there to be worthwhile addition. This is more about not trusting Castillo in high pressure games. I would rather see Cameron at LB than Castillo.

Fabian looks very comfortable as an LB and is very solid defensively. Beasley, on the other hand, has very little experience at LB and defensively will probably a liability. He's also past it. I loved how he played the other night but I'd prefer not to see him anymore. If Johnson can't play I'd rather see Chandler moved to the left and Cherundolo on the right. Also, I don't know if I'd like Johnson as the LM, I know he can play there but he isn't really an offensive winger the way someone like Shea is, for example.

Fabian Johnson is a LB now. Beasley would not be playing LB if Fabian was healthy.

It seems to me Beasley is impressing just fine in Puebla at LW. He has had rare cameos with the USMNT, but he is rounding back into a very good LW again.

Fabian has never had a natural position. He has played LM, RM, CM, CAM, RB, and now LB.

He became a better more consistent player when he was permanently moved to LB.

He will continue to be a LB for club and country.

Beasley still has some good years on him. He may not be a starter for the USMNT when everyone is back healthy and in form, but Beasley can still be a very good option to bring off of the bench, and have an occasional start.

If I had a choice between Beasley or Zusi for a winger spot; I would take Beasley hands down.

Thats a huge blow for us if thats the case. I see a similar lineup to the Costa Rica game, but Edu in place for Jones. (God I hope its not Beckerman that takes his spot...)

Edu will replace Jones. Instead of Bradley being the main DM Bradley will move more into a Jones role while Edu takes the DM responsibilities.

I am not worried at all Edu has been playing really well in Turkey.

I would rather replace Jones with Sacha and let Bradley do the roaming. I would have Edu at RB.

Jones out ! Sucks

This is exactly what I've preached about. Finally a no Jones Bradley pairing. Although I prefer jones to start and bradley sub.

DO NOT put another DCM in like Edu or Beckerman

Put in Kljestan or Corona in his place.... I do not want to see bunker down soccer.

Go on the offensive!

Mexico isnt as good as everyone thinks

Grant Wahl reporting that Edu might be a CB with Beckerman coming in as the DM.

Not really surprised if that happens, but I think Beckerman will clearly be overmatched with Dos Santos.

I don't mind the Edu at Cb though I prefer him at RB as Cameron isn't as effective at RB. Beckerman is a mistake.
