The win against CR was gutsy and one to remember but it's time to think about Azteca. The game's only a few days away and we all know what exactly this fixture is about.

What lineup do you think we'll see? I think it'll be this:

4-5-1:
Altidore
Gomez Dempsey EJ
Bradley Jones
Beasley Goodson Gonzalez Cameron
Guzan

Subs: Corona, Edu, Shea

Zusi is trash and EJ played well so he gets the nod. A lot of us would like to see Edu tried at the back but Klinsmann appears to be grooming Gonzalez and he had a good game, as did Goodson and Beasley. Cameron was bad but that might have been the conditions and since he's our best defender I don't see him getting benched. Edu practiced as a fullback, apparently, but I'm scared of what Guardado would do to him.

And what lineup would you like to see? If I were the coach it'd be this:

4-3-3:
Gomez Altidore Dempsey
Klejstan Jones
Bradley
Beasley Goodson Edu Cameron
Guzan

Subs: Corona for Klejstan to move to 4-5-1 (we'll probably be losing), EJ or Shea (if match fit) for Gomez, Gonzalez for Edu (if he struggles back there)

I want to see an Edu-Cameron pairing but Cameron is the only one who can play RB and Goodson played well and is probably better than Gonzalez at the moment. And as for the formation, I've been calling for a 4-3-3 with Jones, Bradley, and a CM who can move the ball forward, create, and distribute. We don't have any attacking midfielders other than Dempsey (maybe Corona; we'll see) so the 4-3-3 is our best bet (Gomez or even EJ can play on the left).

I'd keep the same formation as last night. Only subs I'd make are Edu for Goodson to add mobility to the backline and either EJ or Corona for Zusi. I'm just not impressed with Zusi. I know conditions were insane and it was impossible to judge player performance properly but Zusi just looks nervous when he plays for the US. His touch is shaky to say the least. Plus we're probably going to be sitting back against Mexico so it will help to have more pace on the wing for when we counter. EJ looked lively when he came on, I'd like to see him against Mexico.

Zusi made a few clever plays but he sucks when he makes that final pass in the final 1/3. I really dont believe he belongs on the USMNT A team.

Zusi will get burnt against mexico

I would keep the same line-up vs mexico (sub EJ for zusi) We have a major advantage at set pieces and corner kicks

Chris Pontius is Graham Zusi's natural replacement. Pontius will come aboard, Pontius will play well, and then people will give Jurgen credit for bringing Pontius in even though he should have been called in and played both Costa Rica and Mex instead of Zusi.

I guess Pontius was on the alternate lists. I know Klinsmann wants Ponitus in the team, but Pontius is having slight groin issues still which was the main reason why he was on the Alternate list.

I think Zusi is much more comfortable as an attacking #8 versus a winger, and I also believe that Pontius is more talented than Zusi, and a better fit for the USMNT.

But with that being said Lando CalDonovan will be back with the USMNT in May, and will take back his spot at RW.

Should be interesting to see who makes the final 23 for the June qualifiers. Agudelo is coming back to form, Dolo and Holden wil be fit and in Klinsmanns plans, Lando will more than likely be back, and attacking talents like Josh Gatt, Joe Gyau, Freddy Adu, Wooten, Pontius, and Bedoya will be in the equation as well.

The USMNT will probably be at it's most healthy under Klinsmann this summer. Knock on wood all potential players get healthy and stay healthy.

Well CalDonovan better come back with a full tank of motivation gas. How long will it take to regain fitness, I wonder how fit he tried to stay during his galactic siesta. Beer, 2 mile jogs, and elephant riding don't count.

I'm having a hard time with this roster. Only reason I put zusi in there is becuase with that formation we need an outside mid that is semi strong in tracking back down the wing to defend.

Here's mine:

---Jozy---
gomez-deuce-EJ
--Bradley-Jones-
Beasley-Goodson-Cameron/Gonzo-Edu/Cam
---------Guzan-------

I liked how Gonzo and Goodson looked, but I would like to see Cameron and Goodson I think they may be a better pairing. Edu can play RB.

Just want to point out that under Klinsmann the USMNT has not lost to Mexico. A tie and a win.

I think this team is very capable of getting a result at Azteca.

#1. Stay organized in the back; don't get stretched and don't give Mexico room to counter (where they're most dangerous).

#2. Pressure the ball in midfield.

#3. Edu/Beckerman needs to clog the space in front of the backline; don't give Gio room to operate.

#4. Big games from the fullbacks, especially Cameron (tough matchup with Guardado); a few big saves from Guzan.

#5. Try to catch them late by attacking at pace off the wings.*

Tough, but feasible. If they do manage a point they'd be in excellent shape: most likely in second place despite probably the toughest first three games (and hence the easiest remaining seven). With a major addition to the team likely for the June matches.

* Fun fact: The US hasn't been shut out in WCQ since October 2005.

Some people are acting like the US doesn't have players that can do some damage against Mexico's defense.

Most definitely Mexico will try to shutdown Deuce, but that will leave space open for Altidore, and whoever is on the wings to exploit. My Guess EJ and Gomez will be the Wide players.

Don't forget Mexico lost Maza Rodriguez for this game. Thats a big experience hole in Mexico's defense.

I really only wished we had a healthy Fabian, I would have loved to see what a Beasley at LB and Fabian at LM could do...I'm not holding my breath on ever seeing that. I will never like Castillo, he is just too nervous for cut throat games. That won't change in his personality type.

The thought the lineup vs Costa Rica was a good one. There is only one change I would make. I would like to see EJ in place of Zusi for this game. I think his size and strength will be huge asset vs. the smaller Mexican players.
