The US can't even dominate in Baseball. I realise that some talented American players declined to play in the WBC, but the US should have enough talent in Baseball to not lose two games in the WBC.

Now they play in an elimination game against Puerto Rico tomorrow.

Kind of sad that the US hasn't won the WBC as well.

Japan will probably win it again. That team is unstoppable.

This tournament thought it could achieve World Cup status and it backfired.

Baseball has really regressed over the last 10 years. It still has appeal in my area because of the SF Giants (World Series Champs) and Oakland As playoff run last year.

When Barry bonds retired, that was the end of baseball. There arent those type of exciting players anymore. My friend who is an UMP in triple AAA says 10 years ago you'd see 8 guys that could be pro, now its about 2 or 3.

MLS (if they make smart decisions) by building the right expansion teams (HELL NO to Sacramento) will be the #2 sport in the US

What killed the WBC was not having it on ESPN, I heard it was only on MLB network. Shame a lot of US players not wanting to play. I would take that over spring training anyday

The fact remains is that the US should be pretty embarrased with their showings in the WBC past and present.

I mean 80 percent of this team is pretty crappy, and look where they are at. Im pretty sure they'll beat the Ricans tomorrow.

The US about to get knocked out of the WBC.

Puerto Rico up 4-0.

US baseball have to be extremely embarrassed with their program.

Now I hope all of the Good old boy sports analysts will shut up about how the US should be better in Soccer ahem Mike Wilbon and Tony Kornheiser.

About to get knocked out by a country that has less than 4 million people.

I don't know what you guys are on about, this has been an extremely entertaining tournament. The Dutch have been a blast to watch and the Mexico vs. Canada fight was a classic NAFTA moment. Given that this is effectively spring training the players in the WBC have been playing like its the post season.

I have no issues with the US bowing out, they haven't performed very well so they get no pity from me.

Pellegrino Matarazzo and VfB Stuttgart got their Bundesliga campaign off the ground on Saturday with a win over Mainz.
