Do any German National team fans know how many hot commodity German CBs there are for him to compete with (in his age group) to stand a chance of being a regular 1st team player for the GNT in the future?

I mean, he had to make a decision soon. I can't imagine the US not being all-out to get him for the last year or so.

To play devils advocate:

Best case scenario- Plays for our U20, does well, gets called into next senior team camp and supplants Besler/Cam as a starter for us.

Worst Case Scenario- Plays for our U20, does well, and Germany brings him into their senior team mix and he uses us to get more exposure to prove Germany he belongs

If Brooks betray us, we should abandon him forever and never ever call him for MNT. We reveal this guy, he was nobody when he started being called into the national team and now when he is on top, he leave us. No, we cannot admit this. i'm seeing a new Subonic,he plays for US while he's noboby and when he becomes one of the best Cb in the world he leave us.

This has to be one of the dumbest posts on here. You realize he played all of 4 games with the U20s right? His being noticed has nothing to do with the almost 60 appearances for Herta right? It was the 4 with the U20s. He had zero appearances with U17s. Its nothing like Subotic. Subotic was a Bradenton developee. Brooks was born and raised in germany, wasnt good enough for their youths, so used his fathers heritage to have a chance with international soccer.

His chances of ever playing for Germany are slim to none. Holger badstuber and Matts Hummels are both 24. Benedikt Howedes is 25 and was named captain of Schalke at 23. Also if Marcel Schmelzer continues to develop as a left back then Lahm could possibly move to his natural RB position which would make Jerome Boateng (24) another option at CB. In 2018 Hummels, Badstuber, and Boateng will all be 29 and Howdes will be 30. Not to say that he doesn't have the potential to eventually pass up one of these players, but I think his chances of doing it are slim to none. If he chooses Germany he is he probably wont play in a world cup until 2022 and that is no garuntee where as if he chooses he most likely makes the squad in 2014. I think everyone will see how good he really is when he plays in the first division next year for Hertha

And I'm like hells ya, made my day. I know we don't know much yet but I will be interested to see if he fully commits to the US or if he says that he just wants to play in the u20's. Personally, I believe if he is going to make a Lebron-like decision then he will commit fully but if he just wants to play for the u20's we will just see an article saying he is on the roster for Turkey.

Shawn Parker also not called in. Is he young enough to be asked to play for US in U-20 WC?

Yes this leaves the door open for Parker as well. But he would have to file a one-time switch to play for the U-20's immediately, and he has made it known that he would rather play for Germany and he is still available for selection for Germany's 2015 U-21 team.

Parker is still a very long shot right now for any US youth teams. Maybe in a few years he will make the decision to rep the USMNT.

Is love to see jk call brooks in to the senior team camp today. And it has nothing to do with cap tying him

1) lets brooks know he's wanted and jk respects his abilities

2) lets brooks see what it takes to play senior level international soccer

3) lets brooks learn from jones, Howard, boca(if he's there)

4) lets Omar and besler know that there are youngsters trying to break in and they need to keep improving.
