And in cases like that, do we just not pick anyone to fill that spot? No! you take the turd that's risen to the top and polish it up real nice until you have a better option.

Im from cali bro... U must of meant louisville hahaha... Champs.. But naa brooks has to earn and want a spot... Usa better not beg.

Yea, if we beg for players that makes us seem desperate. Its pretty weak. Especially if we beg for players and make a big deal over guys that other countries have passed on.

We made a big deal about Chandler. He was hesitant because he was starting to light it up for his club and was holding off for Germany to call him up. Then he started to fall in form, other guys started to emerge in their pool, and it became clear to him that he didnt have too much of a future with the German national team. That is when he finally committed to the USMNT.

Same thing is happening in the MLS. We are making big deals and signing washed up, old European players for DP money. We let those players do what they want and tell the managers what to do. I mean, the LA Galaxy made a big deal about signing Carlo Cudicini. They signed a 39 year old, 3rd string goalie from Tottenham for max non-DP money. Considering he is a guy who couldnt get a game, who wasnt a starter, who hadnt even really played much in about 5 years, and who no respectable teams wanted to sign, that is embarrassing not only for the Galaxy, but for the MLS and US Soccer in general.

Nothing is done yet.

But I wouldn't get my hopes up on Brooks playing for the United States this summer.

Have you heard/read something that might shed a little light on your cryptic statement?

I think we all saw this coming....... it's unfortunate but that is the world of football. Would love to have him on the team but we have promising centerbacks coming up that we've developed here. That should help ease the blow of losing Brooks, he really is a top class talent at centerback. You never know he might not make it to the Senior Team, remember Fabian was starting in the U21 championship final and ended up playing for us the same could happen with Brooks.

Well there is still no definitive confirmation about Brooks either way.

But the U-20's do have some real solid options for CB: O'Neill, Torre, Payeras, and Zimmerman. Also Ramos can always put Stanko at CB if he feels Stanko is a better option than the rest.

From what I heard from the recent camp was that Torre and Payeras complemented eachother well.

Cunningham is another option for CB, but I think Ramos likes him more as a LB.

Zimmerman is getting back to full health and fitness, and should be ready to go by the WC. But there are other players that may be ahead of Zimmerman right now i.e. Torre, O'Neill, and Payeras.

We will know in about a week regarding Brooks because Ramos' 22 man roster for the Toulon Tourney will be out.

Chandler was a bigger deal at that time because we had no right backs beside old man cherlundolo. Plus we were stoked to get a dual national playing in one of the best leagues in the world.

If Brooks betray us, we should abandon him forever and never ever call him for MNT. We reveal this guy, he was nobody when he started being called into the national team and now when he is on top, he leave us. No, we cannot admit this. i'm seeing a new Subonic,he plays for US while he's noboby and when he becomes one of the best Cb in the world he leave us.

Positive news from Jeff Carlisle on Brooks. He would be a game changer if he can develop properly for a number of cycles.

Idk, I could be way off, but one would have to believe Brooks would be a top 10i defender(or close) coming into the U-20 WC in Turkey.
