John Brooks statement:

U20 World Cup IN TURKEY

Brooks puts incidentally in a dilemma. On 28 Begins May in preparation for the French Toulon tournament for the U20 World Championships in Turkey (from 21.06.), And the U.S. would love to have him in the squad for the tournament. Still, the Hertha need not decide which country he wants to play final. He is still in a dilemma right now:

"I would like to ride, but I also need to leave in order to recover for the Bundesliga. I had only eight days last summer vacation. Eventually, the body also needs rest times. Stand now I will not go to Toulon. "

Here is my starting 11 for the U-20's versus France. O'Neill won't be with the team until the second game of the tournament.

Cuevas---Hernandez---Morris
------Joya-----
---Trapp--Lopez--
Oce--Payeras--Stanko--Sorto( if he is totally healthy)
------Cropper-----

Subs: Mcintosh, Torre, Serna, Martin, Garcia, Koroma, Pineda

So now Brooks is out that leaves Zimmerman, Payeras, Torre, and O'neill to battle for the CB spots. Right now it looks like Zimmerman may be the odd man out especially if Ramos keeps Stanko at CB.

I think O'Neill and Stanko are locks for sure, so that leaves Payeras and Torre. Zimmerman will have to do a lot in the next few weeks to unseat either Payeras or Torre.

Here is my final defensive unit for the U-20's

CB's: Stanko, Payeras, O'Neill
RB's: Yedlin, Sorto
LB's: Ocegueda, Torre who will double up as a CB as well.

The 6-foot-3 center back left the LA Galaxy academy and eventually returned to his parents' home country of Guatemala, where he signed for Municipal.

@blaise

Glad it was amusing, but I for real never heard of the guy. He shouldn't have left the galaxy, Arena is doing a great job with the youngsters in LA.

It stinks Brooks won't be with the team for the TT or the U-20WC, but the man does need a rest, it was his first real real professional season and a long one at that. He had to face certain pressures non-players won't understand for the first time, especially being such an important piece. I hope he rests up and chooses to play for the US in the future...b/c he could be a dark horse for the 2014 WC and a cog in our team for the next few WC's.

Saying that this will give him more time to decide...and more time to show his talent to everyone.

We have enough talent at CB to compete at the U-20's without him.

Honestly is a load of crap what Brooks said... many players are facing the same situation as him, not just here but worldwide... Many teams in the sub20 wc have players with similar situations as Brooks... Is a youth wc and many players dream of being there.. And to hear from this youngster that his tired is absolute bullshit... There.are several players like him that commited to their country in worst situations than him... I bet, anything if Germany would of qualify he would of accepted in a heartbeat.... all I gotta say,is fkk him.. And if he decides to play for USA after he got rejected we all have.a new chant, I think everyone knows lol it goes " GERMAN REJECT, GERMAN REJECT, GERMAN REJECT, GETMAN REJECT"... Thanks...

That's what I am saying. O'Neill has started the last 8 games at CB for Colorado. Kid is very talented.

Stanko showed that he is a good option to have at CB.

Payeras has talent

Zimmerman has talent.

Torre has a lot of talent.

The U-20's will be fine at CB.
