BShredder has announced that the US U-20's will play in the Toulon tourney in preparation for Turkey.

Should be a good measuring stick.

Here are the other countries participating:

France, South Korea, Belgium, Mexico, Nigeria, Portugal, Colombia, Brasil, and Congo DR.

What are the dates BShredder?

Sweet. This tourney is always on TV. I remember seeing Adriano playing in this a long time ago.

Here are the groups for the Toulon Tourney:

Group A : USA, France, Colombia, Congo DR, South Korea

Group B: Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Belgium, Nigeria. Group of death.

The tourney starts on May 28th and runs to June 8th.

here are the US dates:

28th May: USA V France. Pre WC tune up game for both countries.

30th May: USA V Colombia

1 June: USA V Congo DR

5 June: USA V South Korea

Teams that finish as the top team in each group play in the Champioinship game. Teams that finish 2nd in the group face off in the third place game.

The US has a very good chance of finishing first in their group and then going on to the Chamionship game. Who knows maybe we will get a US Mexico final again, but this time hopefully the US will be at full strength.

Could Julian Green and Jauquin Alonso Hernandez get call-ups for the Toulon Tourney? Will JAB play for the US or Germany? I guess we will find out in a few weeks.

You should've been born in the 1930's as a radio show host! "Tune in next week"

Would like to see: J Green, J Alonso Hernandez, F Hurzeler, D Holmes, J Brooks, B Salazar

Will Yedlin Villarreal O'Neill and Gil be allowed to participate or will Ramos use the Toulan Tournament to figure out his WC roster and use it as an extended training camp

Although anything is possible I personally believe it's unlikely he'll still be tinkering that late in the game. Toulon will probably be limited to those players in contention for roster spots or perhaps even just the eventual WC roster.

I mean using the tourney as an extended look at Jordan Morris, Payeras, give Salgado, Trapp, Serna, and Sorto playing time to see will they be useful while allowing O'Neill, Gil, Villarreal and Yedlin more playing time with their club teams to grow as players. If McBean hadn't gotten hurt this tourney would have been perfect for Ramos to see if McBean is worth it

Those 4-6 guys who impressed from this April camp that you mentioned (minus Salgado, unless he's 100% and they throw him a bone and bring him along) should definitely be there based on their performances, but I think you need to start developing chemistry within your final group of 30 players that you're going to submit for the WC. Thus I would advocate brining the full monty, unless clubs refuse to release some guys.

Ready for this tournament.

I'd bet on FSC picking up this tournament. I remember them doing so in the past.

Might be the level of the league. MLS will release the players because its more important for them to get player exposure and win

Here is a possible roster for this tourney:

GK: Cropper, McIntosch, Steffen

Defense: Yedlin, Sorto, Ocegueda, Torre, O'Neil, Payeres, Brooks

Middies: Joya, Gil, Stanko, Trapp, Lopez, Martin( would have been on the qualifying roster if college didn't interfere).

Attackers: Rodriguez, Morris, Villarreal, Cuevas, Garcia

Of course this depends on player availability, releases, national team selection decision i.e Brooks, or any injury/form problems.

Players that will also be in the conversation: Pineda, Hurzeler, Green, Keisewetter, Serna, Zimmerman, Hernandez, Koroma, Acosta, Cunningham.

Hurzeler, Brooks, and Hernandez are all players that are in situations of choosing which national team to play for.

Both Zimmerman and Cuevas are battling with injury/fit/form issues right now.

Love that roster.. it's a young.. energetic.. quick team. Looking forward to watching these guys this summer. I'm hoping its a coming out for Villareal to the world as well as maybe for Gil and Joya.
