Im positive he won't be going straight to Roma if this is true. Seattle will keep him for the rest of the season, then Roma will probably loan him to a lower table Serie A team as planned.

If the Roma rumors are true, I hope he does not go back to Seattle for the rest of the season. He'd have no summer break at all and at this age could be very tough to finish strong the upcoming European season considering gold cup is next summer as well.
A month off then joining a team preseason in early August would be optimal imo.

The question would be if he can eventually replace Maicon at RB? I think he can.

Everything that I've read makes it sound like Roma will sign him this summer, but he will stay in Seattle for the remainder of the season.
There are reports that Real Madrid are going to launch an aggressive bid for Raheem sterling. That would leave a whole for a speedy winger in the Liverpool team.
I have no doubt that Yedlin will be in a different Jersey in 6 months. What team jersey that will be? well let that the speculation continue.
Not happening. Sterling will not be sold. Suarez will most likely be, but outside of him, no starter will be sold, definitely not Sterling. We have plenty of speedy wingers in the U21s getting ready to move up and Jordan Ibe is on the cusp of the first team. If he is actually being looked at it would be as the wingback. Johnson will be sold in the next year or so, that position would be fairly open. Flanagan is good old school RB, but doesn't fit BR's system as well as Yedlin would, or McLaughlin the one RB we have in the U21s.

Yep looking like the Roma deal is all but done. He will stay with Seattle for the remainder of the season.

so just like that the first Home grown player for seattle goes away. I just hope he gets playing time once he leave MLS whether in Roma over Maicon or in another Italian team

Playing time is the most important; I doubt he makes the move without some promise of significant minutes.

So Yedlin is now officially an A.S Roma player, man this kid is going to have a great career and it will be fun to see how it pans out. Now here's the interesting part. So Yedlin is now a Roma player but he'll be on "loan" to seattle for the remainder of the season. After that He moves to Italy and goes on Loan to Genoa and after that he is officially with Roma.
Another thing is once he moves into Roma will he play as a Right back or a right wing? Yedlin states that his most comfortable position is right wing and I agree with him. So should Roma use him as a right back he'll have to beat out maicon, not sure if that's going to happen but Maicon sure is getting old and Yedlin is just getting started. If he plays at RW then who will he have to beat out then?
Thoughts anyone?

Ljajic and Gervinho. They don't have a whole lot of other depth at either wing position, though I wouldn't be surprised if they added more before the season begins, with CL play now required.
His future is on the wing. He just needs to bulk up a bit and improve his strength.

Hopefully not. His ceiling is much higher at RB than RW.

He's already bulky enough man LOL. I mean have you seen him up close? He's like a short dude that's on steroids LOL. But anyways, kidding aside I wouldn't recommend him bulking up too much or it might slow him down a bit. Yedlin just needs to make better decisions at the attacking end, but his physical traits like his speed, size, and center of gravity is all there. He's got good skills too.

I agree. I also think he is just more valuable at fullback than on the wing. Fullbacks are much harder to find, especially extremely talented ones. But I just have a feeling he will be moved to the wing for his career.

His ceiling is higher at RB? He has had trouble defending in the MLS in ever season thus far vs. he had big success attacking international caliber players in a World Cup group of death and round of 16: hmmm.....
