So IFFHS has released their past years club rankings for every club in every major league for every nation. Now I'll preface this by saying Im not sure what their criteria are but things like this always make for good discussions. Seattle Sounders checked in as MLS's top team at 128. Ahead of teams like Roma and Freiburg. On the otherhand they were behind three mexican teams (Monterray, Santos, and Tijuana) as well as teams from such power house countries like Mali, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and Cyprus. Galaxy checked in at 239, below at least one club from any country that has come close to qualifying for a major tourney (Congo, Estonia, Macedonia, etc). Houston, RSL, & SKC are the only other MLS teams in the top 450. It looks like they take major consideration to country cups (ie US open cup) and club world cup/qualifying. Since no MLS team has done well in the CONCACAF club tourney it seems to bring them all down and below teams from Africa & Asia that have qualified for Club World Cup.

Pellegrino Matarazzo and VfB Stuttgart got their Bundesliga campaign off the ground on Saturday with a win over Mainz.
