Gyau got the start went the full 90 in a St. Pauli's win. Good to see Gyau finally seeing a lot of minutes.

If he keeps it up, yes. Otherwise he's behind other people like Pontius, Wooten, DeLeon, Corona, Gatt, Mix, COB who are all at that usmnt B-team level

But doesn't the fact that JK called Gyau into a camp, while never calling in Deleon, suggest that Gyau is higher on JK's list than Deleon?

Maybe but the 8 months between Russia game and the Gold Cup could change a lot. I hope Klinsmann considers changes over that period of time

Pontius is higher than a B- level. Pontius if healthy enough will be called up for the March qualifiers.

I'm admittedly biased but I agree Chris has got to be higher than B-.

No, I agree. I think Pontius' game would translate very well into international soccer. I love his game.
But for a guy with 0 caps to be considered higher than USMNT B-team is unusual.

I thought Pontius looked pretty good vs Houston last night. I hope he gets a march call up.

Happy he finally got a start under his belt.
I know I'm biased, I've been a fan of his for a long time. But I just don't understand why it's taking him so long to get first team football. Hope this is the start of something and he does get a Gold Cup look.

I hope he does only for the fact that it means JK is using this years gold cup for the right reasons. It should be a mostly U23 team

In regards to Pontius he got called in for a few games for the US, but he was injured if my memory is correct. He seems to be right on the edge of the team so hopefully he has a good start to the MLS season

saw him play for the u23 side against mexico and thought he was one of the better players on the pitch for either side. i hadn't looked at my program yet to see any of the players, and was so impressed with one of his runs down the left that i had to check out who he was.
@MSantoine, agree and disagree, I'd like to see more from the "young guns" of the reg. nat. team to mingle with the call ups from the u23 side...I'd like to see Shea, Cameron, Chandler and Gonzo in there with the likes of Boyd, Gyau and Mxx, all being lead by Dempsey as capt., who's passion should translate well into that official leadership role.

Bad news is that Kicker gave Gyau a terrible grade (4.5) for the game on Saturday
How does the grading work there though? If I'm not mistaken, it looked like it went from 1-5, not 1-10... I wasn't sure though if 1 was best and 5 the worst or the other way around. Because I read a review of his play via MLS and it sounded like he played pretty well, except being wasteful with a good chance which he hit on frame but right at the keeper.
Anyways just curious. Because no one had higher than a 4.5 and no one lower than 2. On either team. And St. Pauli won.

1-6 scale
1 is a very rare score (the best)
6 is also very rare and it is a horrible, horrible score
