People writing off Dempsey already? As for captain, can Bradley be a better captain? Maybe. But at the end of the day it doesnt matter who in the team is captain as long as they all play as a cohesive unit in the world cup. That all everyone cares.
Disappointing seeing Dempsey just brushed off like that after all he has contributed but its typical just like when Howard was struggling a bit yet he comes back and is a huge reason why Everton is a top 4 contention team even with their financial limitations.
Lets have a bit of patience until the pre world cup camp then JK will decide what is his role.

No one is writing him off. Just worried. The slump MUST end prior to the summer. That's a worrying short amount of time.

who is "writing off" dempsey?

people are saying that - based on lousy play over the last 7 months - IF dempsey is not playing well in winter/spring, then he should not be a starter... seeing as US has some other very good central attacking options such as donovan, altidore and AJ...

relax

Yeah, I think it's fair to be concerned about Dempsey being good enough to retain his starting job. I don't think anyone is suggesting he shouldn't be on the WC squad. He's had 7 months of shite so I need to see something impressive in the next 2 months at Fulham. I'm not convinced he'll do well there, but hopefully I'm wrong.

If he doesn't do much at Fulham he'd really have to tear up MLS to start in Brazil IMO. I wish JK would stop saying that Clint is his Captain. Kinda painting himself into a corner to start Clint.

I'm not too concerned with Deuce's form. He'll either pick it up or he won't...we have other good options. I'm more concerned with him as captain. If that gives him more sway if to be on the field if his form is marginal. FWIW, as good as LD is I wouldn't want him as captain. I'm a traditionalist, I rather see a Dmid or CB, someone with some physical presence be the captain. You need to have the ability to stick a finger in someone's chest and set them straight...to support and convey the coach's direction on the field. Should be MB, but that would cause major problems with JJ...and we all know JK values JJ. If it wasn't Deuce, It'd probably go to Timmy.

Dempsey looking solid in these first 30 minutes. Started a break and would have gotten the goal had it not been for some selfish play by Taarabt.

Dempsey looks good. Fulham as a team doesn't. Taarabt has to be one of the most selfish players I have ever seen.

Clint looks comfortable on the ball and seems to know what to do with it in every situation. Fulham attack cant finish if Berbatov cant finish hope Dempsey gets on the board.

Yep agreed, Dempsey looked good. This Fulham team has some goals in them if they can just be a tad sharper. I must say, the diving from Sunderland has been embarrassing, clearly a worried team that is pulling out all the tricks.

Adam Johnson gives him a serious run for his money.

Why would Fulham bring off Duff? He's been their best player in the second half.

Goal for Sunderland 3-1 up on Fulham. Jozy Celebrating with his team mates. Correct me if im wrong but that looks like a first since his goal against Chelsea. Hopefully he is loosening up.
