Deuce was not very good in the first half, but woke up in the second half, and played really well. He deserved the goal. Should of had two though.

That puts him at 5 in the EPL. My guess he ends around 10 goals for the season. Which is right around where he ususally lands. I am going to say ends on 11 goals.

Dempsey, Bradley, and Altidore in form will be a very good thing for the USMNT going into the Honduras game.

Holtby's talented but young - he's a better long-term option but Clint's their best scoring option besides Defoe and probably Bale. Deuce should have hit his opportunities in the first half, but everyone has their off games. AVB is behind him and I don't see him losing his spot until he has a long run of bad form.

And proceeded to do nothing except garner a yellow card.

no - he (holtby) looked strong. he will start over dempsey. dempsey will really have to scrap for minutes, especially when adebayor returns

i think JK is wrong - this is pretty much dempseys ceiling

I am afraid I agree with all of this. Holtby is a better player than Clint and is on the upswing. I expect to come her with the German team this summer. He would start on most international teams but Germany is stacked at attacking mid

Yet again not really worried. Especially if Bale is sold this summer. Also Deuce has the abiltity to play both FWD positions. Fans worry too much. Deuce is a competitor. I mean I would think fans would want Deuce to be pushed everyday instead of expecting him to be in the starting 11. He wasn't always in the starting 11 for Fulham early on, and he was still playing quite well with the USMNT.

Some of the top players in the world aren't always in the starting 11 not unless your names are Ronaldo or Messi.

This is what happens at bigger clubs. I have faith Deuce will continue to garner starts and minutes.

Looks like he didn't make the bench today vs WHU.

D*mn. I hadn't heard that. I thought is was weird for him not to at least make a sub. Thanks for the info.

Anyone else still worried about Dempsey's lack of playing time? He made it off the bench today for Spurs Europa match but has seen very little playing time.

Nope not worried. He was sick last weekend, and before that he had a strained calf and the birth of his third child. Those are the reasons why he hasn't played much in the past three weeks for Tottenham.

On another note it looks as if Bale just got a serious ankle injury.

Sucks for Tottenham and Bale going forward.

With Bale and Lennon out with injuries, they're going to be relying heavily on the midfield 5 of Dembele/Dempsey/Holtby/Parker/Sigurdsson to get them off the blocks offensively...

This will be a trying few weeks for Tottenham, hopefully they can stay top 4 until they get some reinforcements.
