Sandhausen's Andrew Wooten (2 assists as a right winger) and 1860 Munich's Bobby Wood (goal and an assist as a forward) were named to Kicker magazine's 2.Bundesliga team of the week for this past weekend.

Are both getting close to a Gold Cup callup?

I sure hope so, both sound like the kind of creative, technical and pacey type players the Nats are dying for.

I am looking forward to the Gold Cup roster this year. It will be a good chance for a lot of people to see some of these guys play(Wood, Wooten, O'Brien). If they keep getting minutes and playing well for their teams would you say they are pretty much a lock for a GC call? I also think if the U20 team plays well I could see 1-2 players getting the call up.

Wood's looking scary good - I'd love to see him there. Definitely the opportunist type player that is so promising. As for Wooten - sure, why not? Not wowing anyone right now but consistency will hopefully take him far.

Wood better be called up to the 2013 Gold Cup roster...as long as he is healthy.

I hear Klinsy is trying to turn Juan Pietrovallo American as he really enjoys his midfield presence.

I have the sinking feeling our gold cup roster is going to include all the MLS retreads like Beckerman, Brad Davis/Evans, Beasley, Wondo, etc instead of the youg guys. Just a hunch and I hope Im wrong

Highly doubt that...the two tourneys run together.

There won't be many friendlies with the WCQs going, there will be the few in May, but I think he will call in players that he sees making a difference in the WCQs like the January camp again.

I sadly agree with this. Instead of using the opportunity to play some of the 19-25 year olds, as every other country would do. We'll play guys who would get called to set on the bench in case of an injury. And this is the biggest thing wrong with US soccer

I think some of the players will be in that age range.
