Only 2 realistic JK possibilities are Guzan and Beckerman

Beasley if he's healthy, otherwise I would say Goodson. I feel like Goodson may have captained the team in the past as a one off but I cannot recall for sure. Beckerman, Cameron and Zusi would be options, as well.

i would think beckerman and goodson are the front-runners - which tells you this is a pretty solid "B" squad. (but a good one)

Beas if he's able to start, then Goodson or Beckerman.

Regarding who should be captain going forward. It would give it to MB so fast it would make your head spin. Deuce stepped in at a critical juncture after the accusations and turmoil in the locker room, but he should have been considered a short term solution. Sorry, but Deuce doesn't cut it as captain of the nats. I never want to see our captain going down easy begging for fouls, and disappearing for large stretches of the game... too disconnected. One or two moments of brilliance over 90 minutes should not qualify someone for the armband. I do agree that part of the reason JK made him captain was to engage him, but it's tough to watch.

I do think there are politics involved with giving it straight away to MB...JK values JJ's leadership and it may be viewed as a huge slight to JJ. I've always thought there was a healthy rivalry and a bit of a power struggle between MB and JJ...thought Deuce was the compromise pick.

I was under the assumption that Beas wouldnt start due to his hamstring soreness. I cant see the point in playing anyone who isnt 100% healthy

My first thought was Cameron, but Beas wore it through the entire Gold Cup so maybe he gets the nod (if he plays). Otherwise I do see Guzan being a strong contender. Needs to be someone vocal and has no issue getting in the ref's face to defend his teammates, but a cool enough head not to get carried away. In Panama, it would be a good idea to have the capt. be an outfielder in the midfield, and preferably one that speaks spanish...not sure if we have anyone that fits that bill but Beckerman might.

Bump.

In 2013 it was apparent that Bradley should be our Captain.

Now he's done it twice and I liked what I saw. He is our leader. He also gave some honest post game interviews and he's now trying to right the ship in Toronto.

Sorry Clint, Bradley needs to be our Captain going forward.

Yes to Bradley, Dempsey sucks as captain. He is not captain material.
