With the decline of Donovan and his unlikely return to the national team could Brek Shea be the new poster boy for US Soccer..? Shea has made a move to Stoke city and has the skill and talent to really impress in England. This move was smart he needed a move from dallas and has set himself up for success in engalnd. No one can argue he doesnt have the abilities to lock in a starting spot at stoke, it will take time of course but if he has big success it could push for a move to an even bigger club. Before getting ahead, if he was to become a key factor on the left for stoke he would undoubtedly lock his place on the USMNT left mid-fieid side. With a new American face in the BPL looking to make a name for himself on foreign soil, could Brek Shea be the new face for US Soccer.

Improvements for Brek Shea

1. He needs to look up more when he crosses the ball
2. He needs to stop cutting inside on the wing all the time
3. Quicker passing
4. He needs to dribble the ball better while taking on an opponent

He has the talent to be special, but he still has a few things to tweak in order for him to raise his game to the next level.

Do I think by WC 2014 he will be the USMNT's main attacking threat? Yes. Which will open up space for Deuce to operate better.

Jozy Altidore. he is same age as shea (4 mo older), better than shea, better looking than shea, more articulate than shea, and is a more of a goal scorer than shea. altidore RIGHT NOW is arguably a top 5 US player. shea, coming off poor MLS season is not top 20.

have a hard time believing big time clubs will not be lining up this summer to pen 23 y/o beast who has been lighting up the eredivisie.

BB put too much responsibility on JA too early. but he is now proving his doubters WAY wrong

turn up the hype on altidore - he is ready for it

Shea will never be half as good as donovan.. his almost 23 and by that time donovan was a superstar already... He was already arguably a top 3 player in the mnt.. shea is not even a top 10 now.. hes just a good decent player, just a sub not a starter.. plus his going to a subpar team.. half the teams in mls are much better than stoke. But at least he will get great competition there.. i wish him the best..

All true.

Waiting for him to mirror his fantastic form for the USMNT tho and a move to a bigger club in the summer, i will be patient. Lets see how he does at a higher level if he is truly ready he will do fine. Once this happens we will be US Soccer hero.

I love Jozy, but am very worried about how he will fare with better defenses. He may need a little more time to develop before moving on to bigger things.

It wasnt a question of if shea is as good as donovan it was who could step up and be the next face for US soccer. No one is knocking donovan it just seems his time is over..looking toward the future, shea could easily be the next super star for the US. Also none of the MLS teams are "much" better than stoke city, LA maybe kansas could beat them 1-0 or 2-1..come on.

I'm sure we'll find out, they came through last year on preseason, didn't they? Can't imagine they won't do it again now that they've added two yanks to the roster. Finally some preseason stops in Texas, perhaps?

If there is to be a new poster boy for U.S. Soccer, I would rather it be Michael Bradley...he is already established in a top league and has quietly developed into a very good professional player.

Bradley would make a great face for us soccer, but most people like seeing a attacking player on everything..bradley would make a great captain tho he is the backbone of the team and can knock in some goals at times. But dont see it, plus brek she has cool hair bradley has none..haha nothing to do with it really but..

If he grew his hair back out then could he be the face of us soccer?
