Gatt and Diskerud are both headed back to Norway. So it looks like neither will be in the WCQ team against Honduras.

Diskerud should be on the roster vs honduras

With no big MLS signings this year and klinsmann player/roster selection, Im starting to lose interest in soccer.

Thank god for the SF 49er Superbowl run

Not sure what to think. I don't really understand flying 'home' then flying back on Sunday...so if this means either of them aren't in Honduras that's disappointing. Especially for Gatt.

If gatt is on the honduras roster il be very intersteded to see he calls in. JK's selections especially on gameday are starting to worry me. The 11 for canada was extremelly dissapointing

I am not shocked at all, I don't see Juergen going to Honduras with talent that he sees as unproven. I think that the closest we may get to seeing some young blood will be Gonzalez, Chandler and Corona. Guys like Beckerman, Eddie Johnson and Zusi will be the players that JK selects from the January.

It's not what I want to happen but I think it's what we'll see.

I thought Gatt would go to Honduras just as a sub option late, but I can understand why Mix is not going. JK just had 3 weeks to evaluate him and apparently he feels that he still has a few things to work on. It's not like Mix was going to start over any other midfielder.

Yeah, why the surprise w/ Gatt? He looked like he did in Russia. Showed some "energy," but didn't do much. He's still not ready yet. I hope he gets better, but guys like him are the problem w/ US soccer - heavy on athleticism, light on technique.

He's still on the outside looking in for 2014 if you ask me. I mean, Norway? Really? If he showed as much promise as some of you guys think for the USMNT don't you think a better club team would have picked him up by now?

How is JK to evaluate on Mix, Look what kind of selection of starting 11 for the game against Canada, Was awful and painful. Boring til it hurt. JK and Martin Vasquez are not doing a good job. I am very disappointed on JK and that was the reason he got canned from Bayern, Vasquez influence on the line-up and tactics is pretty much the works I ever seem. Lahn I guess he was right that is was all about fitness and not tactics in Bayern. Disappointed cause I thought he was going to fine a right hand man that it was going to help him well with new style and tactics. Everything that JK said from the beginning about hiring the right staff was BS cause he said it was going to be different staff on different game. I keep seeing this Martin Vasquez since the beginning and he never replaced with other one.

I'm pretty sure the coaching staff has seen Mix play before so no need to worry about how they'll evaluate him. And by the sounds of it, you're expecting Jurgen to turn water into wine. It will take time to indoctrinate the second-tier players, who naturally aren't as talented or skilled as their first-choice couterparts. It's important to do this because if we do have an injury during the long arduous qualifying process, we need depth. That sometimes requires growing pains (i.e. learning how to break down a team that's content to sit back and hit you on the counter), but it's important that if we need one of those players to come in and do a job for a match, they understand their role and how the staff wants to approach the match philosophically.

@bbaker- I agree that Gatt is not the most technically gifted player and he definitely plays with his head down, but still think he could be a useful player when trying to stretch the defense late. His speed could also pin back the LB/RB as they might be wary of his pace.

In regards to him not changing clubs I guess you can say that about Mix as well. Another 6-12 months working with Ole Gunnar hopefully will help him improve and then maybe he will make a move. He is still young and it is nice to see him get playing time regularly at his club.

For Mix who do you feel he should be making the squad over? (this question is for anyone, just curious on where people rank Mix). I think JK is going to have a lot of young players in the GC and see who stands out in that team.

As far as Mix goes i definitely have him rated higher than brad davis and brad evans. The fact that he wasnt in the 18 and JK started brad evans as the attacking mid against Canada is outrageous. Mix is good enough to make the 18 against Russia on a better squad, come in and score a goal, but he cant make the 18 with this MLS based roster. I wish Mix the best of luck even if that is with Norway because JK does not seem to have him in his future plans.

I agree that starting Evans as the AM was nuts, but who knows why he sat Mix. Maybe Mix had an agreement with a team and did not want to get hurt before he signed, or maybe JK was sort of just showing him that he has a lot to do to make the roster for WCQ.

So why not let him go out there and perform and get game experience instead of playing someone like evans. So is JK telling evans has less to do than Mix to make WCQ since he started him? Jk said that six or so guys could make the Honduras roster from that camp and all i am saying is that Mix is at least in the top 10 players on that January roster.

Seems like JK didn't rate him as high as others, but who really knows. Who would you have Mix replace in the expected team?
