What? At Stoke, Cameron is playing exactly the way Klinsmann expects his RB's to play. Getting forward in the attack and being good defensively.

Bottom line, who would you rather have starting a WC game against World Class attackers??

EPL caliber RB (Cameron) >>or>> MLS caliber Midfielder (Evans)

Not really. Hughes doesn't press up-field nor is Cameron consistent enough in the offensive third. As far as who I want starting in a WC game against world class attackers....neither and I pray we have an actual outside back to take over before then, be it Chandler, Lichaj, or Dolo.

Hopefully Shea gets another start tomorrow vs. Tranmere.

Here's Geoff Cameron on his goal.

Cameron is either a CB or CDM in the USMNT. Klinsmann has shown that he doesn't like Cameron at RB. Cameron is an emergency RB for the USMNT. Hopefully, both Lichaj and Chandler are called in for the October qualies. Don't mind Evans, but he was a Band-Aid, not the cure.

2tone, I'd put money on Cameron being our right back. Klinsmann pays very close attention to what our guys are doind over in Europe. When Jones and Bradley are healthy no way he plays in the middle.

Now I could see him get time at CB, but there really isn't a good reason to not have him playing RB at this point. Chandler is unreliable and who knows when we'll see him again. Lichaj is a good RB, but he is playing in the Championship, whereas Cam plays in the freakin EPL.

Why not just play cameron @ RB? He is playing freakin awesome there atm for Stoke. How many chances has Cam gotten there? Like one or two? Once against Belgium where the entire team looked like crap.

JK is high on Chandler, I think he considers his being capped to be a feather in his cap for his tenure thus far, and I'm willing to bet that if Dolo isn't fit yet he'll be the starter come next summer. He's still quite young and I'm pretty sure he sees the potential to be a reliable replacement for Steve.

Yeah, guys, relax w/ the RB discussions. The smart money is still on Chandler. And Dolo makes the squad if he comes back and plays for Hannover. Cameron is just about a lock to make the squad, but he ain't going to start unless there's an injury or card accumulation.

Just to emphasize. GC was amazing this weekend vs. Arsenal. He really started almost everything good Stoke did, and the Gunners really didn't seem to have an answer to him on attack. He did absolutely nothing wrong on defense either. The way the snippets about his goal I've read make it seem he got lucky to get a rebound, but it was an amazing, one-touch, left-footed volley. But, more importantly, he started the whole sequence off with yet another move and run down the flank. Think he might have stolen the ball or won a 50-50, but it was somewhere in the right middle of the pitch where he started off the sequence. Stoke fans on forum all thought he was either MoM or one of top two.

Shea not in the 18. What's the odds Shea is back in MLS by 2015? Possible NYCFC target?

If that's the case, I'd hope that Dallas has dibs...Houston is MUCH closer to his hometown though, but either way I really hope he doesn't, I'd be OK with him moving to a lower league to get some momentum behind him. He's still young enough that he can afford to spend the next 4 or 5 seasons over there and still have another 4 or 5 in MLS.

...so I get it, there are a large portion of people who feel Cameron is not the right fit at RB for JK's system or they personally don't rate him at RB. What I don't get is that many of the same people are jumping up and down saying Lichaj needs to be our WC RB. What do you know that Stoke and JK don't? Why didn't Stoke grab Lichaj if he is a better RB than Cameron?(couldn't be the money) And do you really believe JK is going to insert Lichaj over Cameron when Lichaj can't even get an invite? Honestly, I hope they both make it, but writing Cameron off as someone who can't play RB when it looks like he is going to get the most minutes against the best competition at RB in our pool doesn't make any sense.

Brek Shea has not being picked, due to Hughes not thinking he up to fitness after picking up 3 injuries in quick succession. Being told he could go out on a 1or 2 month loan to get his sharpness up (Marc)

Not sure how credible but interesting nevertheless

Don't send him on loan, just let him train with the first team and play in the reserve matches for the next month or two, get him a few subs before Boxing Day and see what's what. We still have a lot of time before the summer and shouldn't be rushing a likely WC member.

Also, @Riggity, probably because they see him like I do, as a utility defender rather than a straight RB. Someone who can play multiple positions consistently well is worth more than a single position player.

After watching how poor Stoke have been on the wings, it's only a matter of time before Shea is back with the first team.

Looks like Edu was playing at LB as well.
