Also add Gomez to the list and potentially Gooch. Not sure what happened to him against Cuba.

However, Shea defended the challenge made by Kassel, who was booed by some of his own supporters during the game.

He said: "He was going for the ball. I tried to put my body in front of his and it's soccer. Tackles happen - good and bad. I've done worse to other people. I'm not mad at all.

Classy for sure...keeping my fingers crossed for a speedy recovery.

Looks like Shea will only be out up to 4 weeks for a sprained MCL. That's good news. But that may knock him out of the September WC qualies.

Good news, but sucks he wont be in the september qualifiers, due to lack of fitness, playing time.. But for now were ok on that lw a couple players could play there, fabian, corona, lando, Aron, corona, torres, beasley, castillo.. Were good there..

Good to hear, I was hoping for an injury less than two months. Good news is he has established himself and made an impression so leading up to the WC he will most likely get called up. Same as Holden but he is out for awhile. Wish I could say the same thing about Gatt..but he never even got a real shot...

Not much talk about him but he just twittered that he is training again and should be back soon. After watching Stoke City last week and thier lackluster play on the wings I can see why Hughes was angry when he went down. I think he is a lock to start once he is fit and hopefully he can live up to his potential. When he is in form his crosses are potent, his shots have pace and he is very dangerous. Hopefully good things to come for this kid.

That is good news to hear. Hughes is trying to change Stoke's longball routine. He needs wing play and it was evident in the Liverpool game, that they were lacking in that area.

If Walters stays on that pitch after Shea returns to full fitness, the Mark Hughes era will be coming to an abrupt end sooner than he expects. Walters is Championship quality.

Lol so true. I don't forsee that happening though. Hughes was very displeased with that tackle which shows me that he wasn't very happy that one of his starters were hurt in a friendly.

Mark Hughes sems to think Shea will be back next week, and will get some gametime.

Still don't think Klinsmann will call him up though, unless a player gets injured.

I'm a bit pessimistic about Shea but if he ends up getting a lot of PT at Stoke, he is a huge upgrade from EJ and Zusi on the wing. And it means we could play Fabian Johnson as a fullback. I am really keeping my fingers crossed on this one. I'm still mad about that tackle...it was a @#$%ing friendly. So amateur.

Zusi is still better than shea.. even if he plays 90mins every game all season at stoke, i would still take zusi over shea because he brings better a better game to the mnt.. I bet zusi would be a star at stoke...
