Shea is Done he wont do much at Birmingham just a few games and minutes maybe a random goal and assist here. I would like to have Thompson over Bedoya and of course Shea, would not be surprised to see him called up in October.

From the squad that played Czech Rep., i'd love to see Thompson in place of Bedoya. He's a player that needs to get out of MLS quickly. I've seen him play a couple times and its obvious his game is too good for the Quakes. A couple years of fine tuning in a better league and he'll be ready to go for Russia.

WAs Bedoya on top of the triangle? Mix and Corona at the base (still can't believe Klinsmann did this... disbelief ina good way)

That would be Dempsey territory, which honestly I think we're about 1.5 years away from seeing the end of Clint. Thompson pulling the strings, providing he grows into a different class of player, man that would be crazy.

Brek Shea isnt half the player Thompson is. Shea isnt going to do a thing for BCFC. He'll be exposed in the first practice. The only good thing going for him is the rest of the team is the same way, strong, fast, physical but can hardly kick a ball. (those are words from actual BC supporters)

So you've come back from the future to tell us this? What's the deal with the epic level of vitriol towards Shea? Did he cut you off in traffic or not sign your matchday program? Did he bang your sister and never call her back? Did he talk too much while sitting behind you at the movie theater?

No?

Both of these young players have loads of potential...nobody knows how they'll turn out, so why don't we leave the dire predictions and hyperbole for a more appropriate outlet.

Bedoya was sometimes on top of the triangle, some times it was almost 3 flat across, other times it was mix or corona. Lots of interchanging and it was seen a few times hyndman when he came on got a little lost in the speed of the game. But when he settled himself he had some nice passes. Only cm to "hurt" themself if you can call it that because even he did ok was Morales. That SOB has an edge to him, which I usually like but it was sort of hurting his effectiveness.

Shea will continue to get call ups because he is a big threat ff the bench and is a favorite of Jurgens. When Thompson produces in the MLS like Shea did then you can say he earned a call up. Have y'all even seen Thompson play or are you just jumping on the hype machine with everyone else.

I have seen him play plenty of times, he is a MASSIVE talent and prospect. But lacks the final ball and decision making in the 18. Let him have a breakout season as Shea did first and actually produce some things, not just play well.

I seen Thompson play Plenty. He is like a tevez type with great pace and vision he has massive Potential probably more than any player in out sub 20 group. I saw him in person vs Australia and he was the most dangerous player going foward.

I think we have already been over this, I took Hyndman as our top U20, for me Thompson is right along with Rubio, Gall, and Gooch. I also saw him in that game, it wasn't like he was several levels above everyone else just had a good performance. As equally did Gall and Gooch in that game.

But have to say he will have a massive role in Qualifying in Jamaica. As will Gall, Pfeffer, and Jamieson. If Euro players aren't released..

Tommy doesn't have great pace. He has good pace, but not great pace. His asset is that he see's things and is calculating two or three steps ahead of other players which makes him seem physically faster than he is. A Tevez? No I would say he is more in the mold of a Cruyff or Laudrup, but he doesn't have their height.

Personally I see Johannsson being groomed for the Dempsey position for the USMNT. I have said all along that Johannsson is in the mold of a Bergkamp. He is a second FWD/CAM.

Thompson has a ways to go, but he seems to have a lot of talent.

I think Bedoya was the more attack minded CM of that trio, but they all made their runs forward at some point. I'd love to see Thompson, Mix, and Bradley together against Ecuador.

I've given up on Shea, after watching his last performance against Czech Republic he has nothing left. Hopefully I'm wrong.

I was disappointed by Johannsson in the world cup... The way he got pushed around makes me think guys like Boyd will get more opportunities.

Boyd adn Johannsson play different roles. Its not really one or the other. Its more dependent on the formation and the other squad. Aron isnt a target man (what they played him as vs Ghana). He needs a second striker to succeed. He's more of a Dempsey type. Boyd is a target guy (I love his aerial ability, very Klose esque, obviously not Klose caliber). Boyd is competing with Jozy. Aron is competing with Dempsey. Unless we change formations then things could change

Another vote for Shea just not being that good. Someone here summed him up best - big, strong, fast, but can barely kick a ball. He's not good enough for the EPL. And I don't think he's even good enough for the Championship. And MLS is even getting good enough that I don't think he's a shoe in to start if he comes back in a couple of years. The fact that Klinsy keeps giving him a chance means something, but the last 3 games I've seen him play - all USMNT appearances over the last 3 years - he's been total shit.

Nothing against him (other than the hair being awful, but a lot of players' hairstyles are awful), just my assessment.

These conversations look almost identical to the Freddy Adu threads. Freddy Shea? Brek Adu? BraDu? Pick your favorite.
