Lol. People expect to much from a player that hasn't played a minute of first team ball for Stoke this year.

The entire Stoke City team sucked. I always find it funny when the American player gets singled out when the entire team blew.

Its true Americans seem to take more blame then most when something goes wrong. that said shea did suck but so did a lot of other players. Stoke didn't play very well. I think him coming in the game as a 70th min sub is a great role for him. Brings energy, speed and a willingness to attack players. He needs to take advantage of these opportunities when he gets them.

I watched the entire match, and he was not terrible. He was arguably one of their better players for the last 20 minutes. Made a great run but couldn't quite finish, and also provided a nice pass to Assaidi, but he couldn't check his run. If he had, he would've been in on the left side.

I think he looked pretty okay for only having made a handful of appearances this season.

English men hating on Americans nothing new or just clueless fans that arent really fans of their clubs (plastic fans). When you see the English national team and how their youth is produced and how some fans criticize players it really make me question English intelligence of the game or if they are just ignorant lol. Feel for Jozy and Shea just gotta keep pushing.

Doesnt mean much(to me at least) but Brek played 45 in Stoke's friendly a 1-1 draw vs Monchengladbach

Apparently he performed well in the second half hopefully hughes notices it and gives him some much needed playing time during the season. I am not sure if stoke will keep him, loan him or transfer him. I know that he was looking at mls but I am not sure what his market transfer value will be after his lack of playing time, plus a couple notable on and off the field incidents.

Good to hear Shea playing well. Still has a lot of potential and talent. Just needs to get the minutes to show what he has.

Been a Shea fan for a while, hard to see him struggle these past couple of years...hopefully he'll get the minutes he needs with Stoke to secure a regular spot in the game day 18.

Watched it, he looked fine. Produced well, cutting player, finding passes, pressing well, defending.

Really only had one bad pass and it was bc the player didn't finish the run, Borussia Monchengladbach mostly attacked on Stoke's right side bc Shea and his teammates pressed really well on left. He looked on the same page with his teammates, could see him getting min this season.

Just hope Stoke don't buy Assaidi...

Also Bardsley didn't look like he could be taking mins from Cameron in the future either..

Bardsley had some bright spots last year but wasn't consistent, I think he was brought in as back up for Cam. It's also possible that they want Cam as more of a utility defender that can step into just about any spot in the back 4 and play well...but I don't see Bardsley taking away time from Cam at RB unless there's a rotation going on or he's being used elsewhere.

I've already mentally moved on from Shea which is crazy because he's still only 24. If he starts to earn playing time and does well there will be a spot for him on the MNT, if not we have other young prospects. That's a brilliant position to be in and one we haven't found ourselves in ever before. This is going to be an exciting cycle.

Yeah I could see Shea and Gyau on the wings on the MNT in the next couple of years, if they start playing.

If Shea works out the mental side of the game he'll get some games for Stoke. With minutes he'll hopefully become consistent for club & country.

Until this happens i think most of us have moved onto the next level of prospects....
Green, Gyau, Parker, Arriola, etc.... Would be nice to see some actual speedy wingers on the national team. Players who can threaten the opposition. If we find them the National team could (stress could) field a 4-3-3 with 1 CDM and 2 Box-to-Box CM's. Allowing the outside backs to overlap and 3 offensive players interchanging in front.

Bench: Besler, Cameron/Gonzalez, Lichaj, Klute, Trapp, Powers, Arriola, Gyau, Boyd
Agudelo,
Fringe: Shea, Parker, Homes, Diskerud, Edu, Kitchen, Garza, Ferrell, Rubin, Ream

Can't wait to see how things play out over the next 4 years.
