Jurgen Klopp strikes me as a no-nonsense disciplinarian....could be wrong though. Hope that's the case. Not to mention he's far from waltzing into stardom with the strength of that squad. Plenty of work and learning to be done.

Agreed. And it's not like he will be the most popular player in the league at 14. I think it should be a humble enough environment for him as long as he has a decent head on his shoulders.

He is not 14. I think he will enjoy the money, that is for sure. But as far ever making the first team. I will check back in 2 years to see his progress. I am not holding hope at the moment.

We're so desperate for good players that we hype players when they're way too young (Adu, for example). The thing is that at this age some great players turn out to be world class but others just turn into busts. 15 and 16 is just too young to know whether they can be good players a lot. Of course most of the great players were prodigies at that age (some were already playing professionally) but not always, and many prodigies don't turn out. My policy is to try to not get excited about anyone until they're playing first team soccer. Ben Lederman is a bit of an exception though because we've never had anyone good enough for La Masia before.

We may have had players who were good enough for La Masia but who La Masia didn't ever get exposed to.

Other than Adu who was ever good enough for their age group to play there? Maybe JOB but I can't think of anyone.

Pretty sure kicksngigs was taking a shot at Freddy Adu who was the most popular player in his league at 14 and has used it as an excuse as to why he hasn't performed to the standard we expected him to.

Did anybody check to see if Junior securely packed his teddy bear? Where is SoccerGod when you need him! All joking aside, I hope Junior does not suffer from BMOC syndrome. I am sure he will see just how good, if not better, the other players in the academy are. Hopefully that will check any ‘tude he might have developed and he will raise his level of play. If he wants to reach the highest levels of soccer, he will need to "live and breathe" soccer. He should be in a good atmosphere to learn that. Wish him nothing but the best!!!

Realize he did not have good outings in his last U-17 appearances. Why should I hold any significant hope that he can break into one of the best clubs in the world in 3-4 yrs?

And you realize if one of the best clubs in the world have interest in you then probably have some talent. Also the champions league next year is starting a youth tournement. Pretty much if you make the group stages your youth team is in it. So he has a chance if he stays healthy and gets his waiver to play against the top youngsters in the world

Interesting live cam with his father Flores has been doing great with Dortmund in pre season but has expressed his desired to represent EL Salvador, and his love and passion for the country, and im sure he feels bad after he got f***ed in the sub 17 qualifiers, and has bad feelings towards USA sub 17 .. at this point i think his leaning more towards el Salvador and i agree with him he should play for them...

Is embarrassing for this country to go after so many duals, even tho we have well over 300 million people and need to look for dual nationals to play soccer.. wow 350 million and cant find 11 players or 23 lol is absolutely ASTRONOMICAL......

Listen towards the end he should go to to la selecta.. (en espanol si no entienden.. )

Good find, Admsghs27. I enjoyed hearing what they had to say regarding his future and whatnot.

As far as I could tell, he begins his statement about La Selecta with, "Si, si nunca me llama Estados Unidos..." His father also uses a similar qualifier. If you don't want to run that through Google Translate, it means, "Yes, if the United States never calls me up..."

They spoke of keeping the door open to play for El Salvador if he was no longer in the plans of the United States. I got no inclination that he was leaning towards ES from that interview, whatsoever.
