Klesjtan plays in a better league than holden.. Anderlecht will beat any Championship team... But when both healthy ill take holden over klesjtan... Im sure holden will be in the gold cup team...

Providing a few assists in the Champions league really doesn't provide sufficient evidence that Kljestan is equal to or better than Holden. Holden was rated as the top CM in the EPL back in the first half of the EPL season in 2010-2011. He was voted Boltons best player eventhough he was out for the remainder 3 months of the season. Pray tell me has Kljestan got any near those accolades for Anderlecht in a far inferior league?

Kljestan has some good attributes as a player. I hope he continues to get better, and I hope he leaves Belguim and tries his hand in a much better league. If Holden comes back fully healthy my guess is that you see Holden starting alongside Bradley next fall in the WC qualifiers not Kljestan. But I do like Kljestan much more than Torres. Thats for sure.

what if he played for:
- Ajax or PSV?
- CSKA Moskow or Zenit?
- Olympiakos?
- Galatasaray?

these are the teams and leagues that Anderlecht are equivalent to. just because holden when to EPL and did well does not mean kljestan would not. just the opposite - the evidence is that he is every bit as good as holden and would do just as well.

it is pure illusion that holden is a more productive / effective player, all in all

Holden will eventually be back with USMNT, let us just wait and see.

Iv seen both play for NT and club and iv seen holden go foward and pick out passes and make plays when kljestan went backward or side ways with the ball. JK even commented on his habit not to go foward and made it his reason for not selecting him. Is holden better than kljestan..yes. It comes down to actually watching them play, stats aside.

ultimately - here is my point:

lets say JK plays a 3 man CM triangle, or a diamond with dempsey at top... RIGHT NOW, who do you want in CM with bradley and jones - holden, kljestan, or williams?

Hex starts next week and WC is next year - time to stop speculating / fantasizing about holden

Helicopter-flyin Klinsmann will be using Eddie Johnson and Zusi most probably (if not both) to be outside mids because of its relative success. There will only be room for Bradley (CM) and Williams/Jones (DM).

in last 4 road games he has used that line-up once - @ Antiqua (which hardly qualifies as a legit road game)

@ Russia - williams, bradley, jones
@ Jamaica (WCQ) - beckerman, edu, jones
@ Guatamala (WCQ) - edu, bradley, jones

so WHAT IF he plays 3 CMs who do you want with bradley and jones
- holden, kljestan or williams???

As of this moment, for those choices, Kljestan. But I pray we will not be using such a lineup.

Iv wanted to see kljestan in the center for the NT since his success at anderlacht, he deserves the chance to play there. In a three center mid line up I would take kljestan on the left side bradley in the middle holden on the right. Or jones in the middle bradley on the right.
