Red Bulls have named Mike Petke as the new head coach.

Will he join Olsen and Kreis as an up an coming young American head coach? Or will he flop?

Curious to hear the thoughts of others here.

As a RB fan I'm over the moon. I'd much rather have Petke then just about every name we have been rumored with. Petke understands the league has been an assistant for some time, knows the guys in the locker room as well. Tacticially his ability remains to be seen and regarding controlling a locker room with some egos also remains to be seen.

I have nothing but faith in Mike and I know he will do a good job. This is the first time I've been happy about a hc for my RB's for a very long time. But that is what he is going to need....time.

I'm going to be much more patient with Mike then previous coaches. Best of luck to him.

You may be patient but the Red Bull brass won't be. I see this as a temporary solution. I don't forsee Petke being a long term Head Coach withe the Red Bulls.

Isnt it pretty clear that Reyna will be coach within 2 seasons tops. Kind of makes him a dead man walking regardless how he does. And if players start to sense Reyna gets close it could easily divide the locker room between Reyna guys and Petke guys

David Wagner and Huddersfield Town are on the brink of history as they look to achieve promotion to the Premier League.
