Not that this really factors into the US national team but Tony Tchani became an American citizen today.

Congrats to him.

bit disappointing. I liked what i saw from Tchani in January camp. Thought he should have played more.

That stinks. Doesn't say he has accepted though.

He hasn't accepted he wants to see if he gets called up in march against guatamela. If he does I have heard his preference is the US. Simple as that balls in klinsmanns court now.

Great for MLS. To have 3 players, including two very young guys, making national teams for good nations is always a good thing. Tchani isnt a difference maker. US will be fine with Morales, DWill, Kitchen, etc instead of Tchani.

I have seen a limited amount of Tchani, but I think I like him better than Morales.

Tchani accepted the call up. So presumably he should get capped by cameroon if he plays any of the two games against South Africa. I thought he played very well last year but I think he was a guy on the fringes of the 23. Good option to have but not devastating to not have him. Hopefully morales williams or kitchen can step up as possible options going forward.

This is a better gain for MLS then it is a loss for USMNT. US will be ok without him, MLS will get to advertise another national team player from their league.

Cameroon has three players from mls called up for them thats a good thing to have. I feel that West Africa should be the next frontier for mls you can get quality young players for really good deals.

It just means the path from Cameron to Trapp/kitchen/acosta got shorter... those guys have to mature quicker now that a potential solution is gone.

Fine by me, throw any of the ACosta kitchen, trapp, canouse, stanko, d williams, hell even ccv if he develops into one

Having lived in Columbus for the past few years, I hate to say it but Tchaini's last 1.5 seasons are more of the exception than the rule. When he's on, he's one heck of a DM. When he's off, he's a turnover machine with limited passing ability. The ceiling is higher w Trapp.

Look at this clip from 0:35 - 0:40

I still don't understand why Jones get fined for faking it in stead of Tchani get fined for deliberately hitting another player

That was Waylon Francis with the deliberate elbow (on his 3rd attempt no less), not Tchani.

I hate to be the harbinger of bad news, ladies and gentlemen, but Michael Orozco will start for the US men's national team in Jacksonville.
