Well it seems Holdens Manager at Bolton is quite bullish about Holden possibly returning to the first team for next weeks FA cup tie against Sunderland. Doesn't mean he will be playing, but it's remarkable nonetheless.

It's great to hear. I wonder what kind of player he'll be when he's back. Unfortunately he'll be stuck in the Championship (at best). We are absolutely stacked at CM but we are desperately lacking in wingers/attacking midfielders. He played on the wing and CAM in his MLS days, maybe he could play there for the Nats. Hopefully he can be a boost to us but I don't think we should get our hopes up too high (and besides, who knows if he can stay healthy).

I think the championship is a great league for Stu to regain his form.. and if he holden does become the player he was before injury, I would hate to see jk stick him out on the wing. He is the most pure center mid US has it its player pool. Bradley and holden would be a fine central pairing imo.

He's best in the center for sure but he could be a great winger for the us, he has great crosses.

A bolton win here gets them to the 4th round proper. They would host everton at the Reebok.

I called it yesterday. Stuart Holden will get a solid 15 minutes today.

Don't be surprised to see Holden in the 18 this weekend for Bolton as well.

I said in November that Holden would be back in the squad by mid January....just hope it's just sub appearances for the next few weeks...longer and longer mins progressively.

I said the whole time why he was rehabbing, Holden shouldve been in the gym bulking up........ the lack of a relationship between soccer players and weight lifting is mind boggling.

might be his foot, so I don't think lifting weights would have helped.
