Man Clint Mathis is another what if player? I was reading a piece about him at USsoccer.com. and all I could see in my mind is Mathis' intensity on the field. I remember reading an article that the Brasilian players were extremely impressed with Mathis when the USMNT played Brasil back in the early 2000's.

I am not really privvy to any details about why MLS turned down a Bayern Munich offer for Cletus, but man I think he could have been a force for Bayern.

Still to this day I rate him as the best pure finisher to ever wear the USMNT jersey. To bad injuries caught up to him. But it's good that he is involved with soccer still. He is helping teach soccer to youngsters in the Galaxy Academy. Which is awesome.

I always loved watching Clint Mathis play. I'm not sure why he didn't see more time on the field in WC 2002. His goal vs Korea was beautiful..

One of my favorite moments of the last 10 years of YA history was when clint tapped his watch for Lienen.

Miss me some Clint
