Andy Najar is going on loan to Anderlecht. It'll be interesting to see how he fits in.
He's obviously very gifted and I think he'd help the team out quite a bit.
It'd be great to see another product of MLS and American soccer do well in Europe even if the player isn't an American citizen

A lot of people care. Club teams and national teams are separate.
Najar is a product of American soccer even if he's not his citizen. If he does well, more products of American soccer will do well - which means more American citizens doing well.

BShred is right. Andy came up through the DC Academy, so I as a DC fan do care a lot actually.
Oh and Desi, Roger Espinoza is a US citizen so he is by definition just as much of a "yank" as anyone else. Roger: "I thought about (playing for the United States), but the opportunity didn't come."

This is a DC United forum, not a US national team forum
Najar is a DC United player so it's relevant to this forum
Anyway, how Najar does with Anderlect reflects on DCU & MLS

This I disagree with.
A "Yank" does not equal an "American citizen" - A "Yank" is a player who either plays for the national team or is willing to play for the national team.
Andy Najar is neither a "Yank" or an "American Citizen."
Andy Najar is a member of DC United and MLS. This is an MLS forum specificially about DC United.
If you don't believe me, check it out on the right above the thread title. It says "Major League Soccer » DC United"
So it seems to me that Andy very is relevant in this forum
Saying "Who Cares?" to a player who is relevant to this forum is nonsensical.

How about posting about a player that is a member of DC United in a forum that's about DC United?

@BShred I was leaning more towards the broader connotation of the word but as far as footballing goes, I agree with you as well.

I think it's awesome. There's no doubt he's skilled and it will be a great way to wet his feet. Having regularly watched him at DCU it was clear he was ready for the next step. Has he become a regular for Honduras? Last I checked he was not. Will we face him next month?
