Will Packwood suffered what early reports are suggesting a broken leg today. Thoughts are with him.

This is a big blow to the U.S. U-20 backline. No Brooks and now no Packwood. Zimmerman, O'Neil, and Torre are going to have to up their game substantially in Qualifying. my guess that the 2 starters will be Zimmerman and O'Neil in qualifying.

Lee Clark: 'Will Packwood has suffered a horrendous leg break. It's a nightmare for us. Will has been great for me & we all wish him well.'

Terrible news for the U20 team and for the Men's team in the future. Never know how leg breaks are gonna heal. Prayers are with him.

Hertha isn't going to let him go for the qualifying tournament. Since he is their starting LCB. He wants to play for the U.S.

Wow. Not on behalf of me. This U-20 team will be ok.

Its not going to be the same having Brooks and Packwood would have been a good CB pairing as both are getting solid minutes(Brooks starts) for such young men. No one can replace Packwood with that experience at this level.

This isn't about the US U20 team. That's about grooming players into professionals and this team will be okay. Zimmerman and Brooks will start at the World Cup if they qualify.

Packwood was already a professional earning minutes in the Championship. This about him having a career again because that's very much in doubt - you can't compare this with other broken legs (Eduardo, Zakuani, etc) because no two are the same.

This is just awful, awful stuff

Wow what a terrible loss... This type of injury takes 1-2 years to be fully healed.. He will never be the same again.. And it sucks because he was starting to get more starts and playing time..

I'm crying for the guy. That's a harsh thing to have to face. The good news is that a lot of players over there can reach out to him, who've been there before - such as Stu Holden.
