i really think it is a (coaching) crime and thats just how i feel

This isn't a club team. It's not nearly as clear who should play and who shouldn't and into what system. You're going to disagree with the decisions of whoever is in charge. And even if they did than everyone else would disagree. So unless this "crime" is something that everyone else demands than it probably isn't grounds to get too angry with the manager (especially if that manager obviously knows what he's doing). In this case, most of us would like to see Klejstan given more chances but we're not too miffed either way since he's never really looked like starting material.

Kljestan has never played his natural role for the usmnt. He's a good player on a very good Anderlecht team. He plays the 2 in a 4-2-3-1 and the other 2 is Lucas Biglia - an Argentine international.

In terms of American field players he's top 10 in terms of accomplishments

I'm pretty much over trying to use a player's USMNT performances as a way to judge his quality. The team is a mess and almost no one is playing as well for the US team as they are with their clubs (Altidore, Gomez, Chandler, Johnson, Kljestan, Torres, Bradley, Jones, Zusi, Wondolowski). Pretty much the only player under JK that is playing up to his potential under JK is Dolo.

Top ten is definitely a stretch. Even at his position, Bradley, Jones, Williams, and maybe Edu and Torres have played for teams Klejstan would not get a game in at. And Klejstan has never really played well for the NT (besides that one game against the Swedish B team). Most of his games for the NT were under Coach Bob. Maybe he has improved in the past two years but we're going on what we've seen from him (and he's not young). I'd like to see him get more PT because it seems he has improved at Anderlecht but I wouldn't be too bent out of shape if Klinsmann decided he wasn't good enough or the right player for our system.

And I think you're being way too harsh on the team. We have defended very well recently, despite having our back line totally up in the air. I think on the whole the back 5 has been very good under Klinsmann, even though we haven't really had good CB's. We don't concede many goals and we've played some good teams, even top European teams. Our attacking players have not played well because we don't have any decent attacking midfielders besides Dempsey. How is Altidore supposed to play well when he gets no service? The Eredevisie is one of the most wide-open leagues in the world (second highest in goal scoring). He gets tons of service at AZ and isn't the type of player to create much for himself). Gomez has had to play on the wing (and when he played up top he didn't get any service), as has Zusi (who isn't international caliber anyway). You can't expect either of those players to do well on the wing. Torres was always played out of position (Klinsmann was looking for an attacking mid, it was a good idea to try him but it didn't work out and we're still looking for another one). Bradley has played just as well for the NT as he has for his club. And Jones at times plays well but he came from a different culture and it shows (he doesn't really understand his teammates). Johnson and Chandler have at times played very well for us. They've had some bad games here and there but so have they for their club teams. And our keepers have been great. And Wondolowski? Come on. He's not international caliber. When he played for us under Coach Bob he looked like he was in way over his head and missed a sitter or two.

You don't think Kljestan would start for Hoffenheim or Bursaspor, or Rangers? Give me a break. I watched Kljestan in the Champions League and he fit in.

As for Zusi, I completely believe he would do fine internationally and in Europe.

He'd probably start for the latter two. Not for Hoffenheim though.

Zusi would be in one of the Scandinavian leagues at best and more importantly, he is definitely not a winger (where he's had to play for the NT since we don't have other options).

I hate to break it to you, but there is interest right now in Zusi from teams in big leagues.

As for Scandinavian leagues, SKC is better than almost every team in Scandinavia except for Copenhagen and maybe Rosenborg.

this is absolutely one of the most ridiculous statements i have seen. what are you basing this on?

in last years europa league hannover was in the same group as standard liege.

liege won the group with 14 pts
hannover finished 2nd with 11

brugge won their group over braga (portugal) and birmingham city

anderlecht won their group with the most points and biggest goal differential of any team

anderlecht is ranked ahead of many teams in bundesliga and EPL because they are BETTER based on objective data and analysis

saying that kljestan would not play for ANY team around or below anderlecht in UEFA rankings is complete nonsense

hoffenheim? you are joking right? hoffenheim could not pay kljetan enough to play there

Only reason I can think of to why Kljestan wouldnt start at Hoff is that their to deep in the center.. Rudy, Aquah, Williams, and Polanski...tough competition..
