35 minutes into his season, he has earned a red card by the Kaiserslautern goalkeeper and has an assist after beating his defender twice and putting in a beautiful cross. Looks outstanding right now, his touch is on point and his defensive back tracking looks great. Good start for Bobby hope he keeps it up.

Im pretty sure B. Wood will be called up to the September friendly with Boyd and Johannsson out.

Would like to see

Altidore
Agudelo
Wood
Wooten
Parker (if he switches)

Yep Bobby looks really good.

Should be interesting to see where he lines up for the Nats if he gets called up.

He can play LF/RF in a 4-3-3, and as a second striker in a 4-4-2.

I think this could be a good front 4:

Wood------Altidore-----Gyua
-----------Green---------

A lot of attacking intent with this

He should of had a second assist if the player he played through would have had a better first touch.

He really is beating players at will. A lot of people have said that he was the most talented player out of that 2011 U-20 cycle. More talented than Gyau, Agudelo, Rowe, Lletget etc...

I don't like what I see from Wood. Not turning out to be the player I was hoping for. (1860/Darmstadt game)

Wood doesn't really impress me either. I would take Will Bruin over him. Saw him play with USA a while back and did not do much, we will see what he has vs Czech.

wood has only been so-so this season. but he certainly has shown more in the past. wouldn't lose patience with him so quick he'll continue to get minutes at 1860 and contribute, when hes not scoring he is notching plenty of assists at least so thats positive...but in order to really be indisputable call up he needs to be able to put a team on his back and help get results - no such form as of yet.

His only callup was the Bosnia friendly where he got like 3 mins for his first cap. I agree on seeing what he has against the Czech Republic but lets not act like hes gotten loads of time with the USMNT.

F*ck Bobby Wood, never call him up again:

Saw this on BigSoccer, am not surprised, and do think it is more likely than not, true:

the guy who does the page and reports about 1860s reserves has posted about the why and how of Bobby's situation. It seems that the new sport director Poschner and former coach Moniz(under whom he played regularly at the beginning of the season) really tried "to talk him up" in pre season, saying that they plan with him as a regular starter and that they trust him to do well. Together with his recent callups this year by Klinsmann he -over this year- more and more "has lost touch with the real world", especially "concerning the the basics of the game and his own performances". In the chaos of the current season he shot himself in the foot with "arrogant performances and behavior" in training. Then, when he was sent to the reserves -with another player who then played- he refused to play there which now totally cost him all credit with the mgmt. The poster also said that in the week before the international break he didnt go to "some" training sessions.

Booby Wood must be related to Juan Agudelo

I'm not going to get carried away based on rumors and hearsay. You shouldn't either. Let's give the guy a chance, we obviously lack strikers.

I don't think Bobby is a bad player. However, given what I've seen from him the past few outings, if ArJo and TBoyd aren't available for future match dates USMNT should check out the other options in the player pool.
