Sunderland??

My first reaction was to cringe but after wanting to rip my face off watching Sunderland during Jozy's stint, I haven't tuned in to Sunderland at all this season. As much as I am interested in how Yedlin is doing, I've just been taking whats being said in the Yedlin thread at face value.

Now that Sunderland is in the post Adam Johnson era are they more watchable? By the way are you guys following the Adam Johnson situation? The judge told him to go home and say goodbye to his baby daughter. Sounds like he'll be locked up for 5-10 years.

Id like to see him go to RB Leipzig. He can do what they thought Boyd would do for them.

I haven't been following them close enough to know how well their current forwards are performing but RB Leipzig are well on their way to promotion to the Bundesliga. Without doing more research into their roster that sounds like a solid suggestion at first glance.

I'd like it to stay in Germany. Maybe a mid to low table team that isn't in a relegation battle every year.

They have Boyd on the books but he cant stay healthy. Other forwards they have are the following:

Marcel Sabitzer- Young (21) Austrian. Has already broken through to Austrian National team. 7 goals in 24 games, his first real action with club after having a successful loan back to Austria as a 20 year old. Signed through 2018 so he should still be there next year.

Yussuf Poulson- 21 year old Danish player. Been with RB for last three years. Wouldnt surprise me if he moves on. Has 24 goals in last 2.5 years.

Emil Forsberg- 24 year old Swedish winger. Joined last year for 3 years & 3.5 mill. Just recently broke into Sweden's senior national team.

Nils Quaschner- Their 4th striker. 21 year old German. Was part of early German youth teams (10 games with U17) but never played beyond that level for Germany. Seems to be the type of player a promoted team upgrades from.

The prize of their attacking group- David Selke. 21 year old German. Led UEFA U19 tourney in scoring in 2014.Was German U20 teams main forward (23 goals in 32 games). Recently transferred down from Werder Bremen to RB to help them get promoted. Signed for a long time but wouldnt be surprised if Bayern came calling sooner or later.

They have some good young talent (thus getting promoted most likely) but Wood should go to a place he has to earn it. No reason he cant fight Sabitzer, Quaschner, Forsberg & Poulson

I predicted Bobby would score 16 goals in Bundesliga 2. Looks like he may surpass that.

Another week and another goal for Bobby in a 3-1 win for Union Berlin today.

That makes 14 goals on the season. He just tied Conor Casey's goal scoring record for an American in Bundesliga 2. He has roughly 2 months left of the season to score more goals.

VfB wanted him last season, remember it was even being reported that he had signed and was on his way to Stuttgart.

I'd imagine they'll be on the list of potential suitors. Perhaps they could offer Union Kiesewetter in addition to financial compensation for Wood.

Obviously transfer rumors can be ridiculous.....but has anyone heard the latest on Wood? There is buzz about him meeting with HSV's sporting director and talk of Liverpool being interested.

Much rather see him stay in Germany and go to Hamburg versus Liverpool, for the sole reason being I don't know how much time he would see at Liverpool. He would have Sturridge, Origi, Firmino, and possibly Benteke ahead of him.

Klopp is no fan of Benteke from what I hear. But yeah his path to more minutes would be greater at Hamburg. But remember Bobby was being scouted by Bundesliga clubs when he was 18 before his injury issues with 1860 Muunich derailed him a little. I believe Klopp might have scouted him in the past.

I think he could break at liverpool. Benteke is out or out of favor. Sturidge is out since he cant be healthy at all ever. There only Origi and Firmino. Might I add that i though Firminio was more of a CAM/CF. But hey a bundesliga move is good too.
Wheres our liverpool expert?
