Agreed. WE might think that Boyd is #3, but that's definitely not what JK thinks.

I always thought and been wanting Boyd to get more game time with the mnt. and im sure if he gets more time he could jump to the #2 spot. Maybe even 2. EJ will always be in the mix because he has a knack to score. Doesn't create plays just scores.

he is not better than AJ. AJ is the number 2 tehre is no argument. EJ and Boyd are 3a, 3b depending on who is hurt at the moment

Bah, if he keeps this form up for the rest of the year then surely he'll move ahead of EJ, right? The only thing I see stopping that from happening is EJ taking a rest-of-th-European-season loan in January and does well.

Boyd will only move ahead of EJ when he performs with the MNT... He runs around like a headless chicken most of the time right now and has low composure. EJ may be EJ but he gets the ball in the back of the net for us (and I'm not even a fan... One more crossover dribble and I'll...)

Boyd needs to go to a better team and better league. Dutch league IMO. Learn some technique and tactical awareness. He already has the shot and body work.

Agreed. Boyd's potential is likely much higher than EJ, but as of now, if we are trailing late in a game, there's no question who Id rather see in between the two. Gimme the one who can turn nearly any set piece play into a goal (EJ). Boyd's time will come, but thus far he has done very little for the USMNT

The only reason EJ is ahead of Boyd IMO is that EJ can play out wide as well as up top. And as I see it, the pecking order is Jozy, Iceman, EJ, Boyd.

It also depends what type of striker we need. I see Boyd as the most likely replacement for Jozy if we need a target man.

when assessing boyd's performance for US it's probably worth keeping in mind that he has played 53 minutes in 2013 - and had the assist on the winning goal in panama.

with a 23 man roster you have some flexibility... i think you can find a spot for boyd

hope he gets significant minutes in friendlies because it is time to get him fully integrated

Thank you, exactly like a headless chicken. I don't see him developing enough by WC to overtake EJ.

Let's wait for his first USMNT start. Not about hate, but I would gladly take a bet with anyone that during his first start he will cave under the pressure and flop badly.

Hmmm, developing enough to say score in the Europa League? Say what you will about the Austrian League, but playing in the Europa league to me is pretty valuable experience.

He's had his first start for the US already...against Brazil and only a great save by the Brazilian keeper kept him off the score sheet, so I would say he did not cave.

Just checked, he didn't start, my bad...but he had a good game.
