It's gonna have to come down to who trains better in the 30 man camp, unfortunately. At this point I'm not sure who I'd rather have, but I think today I'd take Agudelo. Not only can he score, but I feel he brings more to the team.

You would imagine bigger teams are taking notice of Boyd. West Ham was said to be tracking him this season. You would have to think a few German Bundesliga teams have a need for a striker like Boyd, too.

Doesn't really make sense for Boyd to go back to Dortmund even though Lewan is leaving. They just purchased Adrian ramos, they also have Ji Dong Won who will be joining. Aubamayang is still there hell even Scheber is still in the mix. Doubt Boyd will go back to Dortmund. Hertha will be a good choice since they sold Ramos and could use a pure number 9. I thought Lazio was interested in Boyd as well. I noticed Boyd's ball control has gotten a lot better, he's in the right positions most of the time instead of mindlessly chasing the ball down, he's a threat in the air as usual. I think there will be quite a few teams in Europe that can use his services.

Signed as a free agent, plus Ji is a versatile player. According to Jurgen Klopp.

I can't imagine he'll see much PT. This is the guy that was unwanted by Sunderland and Augsburg! I think Ji is a decent player, but good enough to even sit on Dortmunds bench? I don't see it, no matter how versatile he may seem to be.

Unwanted by Augsurg? Hmmmm, im not so sure about that. he went to Augsburg on loan cuz he couldn't misplace altidore at sunderland. and now he's scoring for Augsburg unless of course he fell out of favor there.

EJ is definitely out of the mix at this point in my opinion. He didn't play last night due to a hamstring issue and he hasn't done much as of late (besides that goal against Mexico that was wrongfully called off).

I also think Agudelo has more ground to cover as Juergen hasn't called him up as frequently as Wondo and Boyd throughout the cycle.

I think Agudelo and Wondo are in different player pools. I think there is a pure striker depth chart and an attacker depth chart. Pure striker you have Jozy, Aron, Boyd, Wondo. Guys who could play up top as a lone striker. Then you have guys like Aron (can fill either role), EJ, Agudelo as 2nd strikers in a 4-4-2 or wide attackers off the bench. I don't think Agudelo is in competition with Wondo nor Boyd with EJ. If JK is bringing 4 forwards I doubt he brings Jozy, AJ, Wondo, and Boyd as there isn't a lot of flexibility there. When would both Wondo AND Boyd be needed? Only if Jozy AND Aron got hurt/suspended AND THEN one started and you needed a sub. Much more likely that he brings Jozy, Aron, Boyd or Wondo and EJ or Agudelo in my opinion

I have watched soooo many highlights of these goals he is scoring in this league. Might be the most repititive type of goal I have ever seen. Someone whips the ball to the box, he heads it in. Rinse and repeat. EJ is still over him given his USMNT form and versatility.

Well that escalated quickly. Where are your goals, bro? Always such a dumb question... Haha Boyd is preferable to Johnson, in my book. Sorry, I don't have any goals of my own to make my opinion more valid. I can see how Eddie has a case. He's scored important goals for us and he's got WC experience.

To be fair I really don't care how the ball gets in the back of the net as long as that is where it ends up and Boyd seems to be doing that regularly.

To bring in a baseball reference I am sure if you watch all of Hank Aaron's 755 homeruns it probably looks pretty repetitive as well.

To be fair, if were resorting to this logic (goals are goals), most of you who condemned Wondo and wrote him off will look pretty hypocritical.

EJ has definitely hurt his chances since he's not putting up the numbers like he was last season, but if we're going to talk leagues/levels, Austria isn't any better than MLS and that is Boyd's dilemma. He's in form and banging in goals, which has him in contention, but that production is somewhat discounted just like Wondo's always has been in MLS.

Regardless, Boyd will be in the 30, the question is will he make the 23 as depth for Jozy.

I never said no to Wondo. I was just stating that Boyd is scoring goals right now and EJ is not.
