Daily Star have reported that Chelsea and Tottenham are eyeing Altidore. What do you think?

Out of those 2 teams I would have to say Spurs as he would have a better chance breaking into the team. Remember that Chelsea still has Lukaku who is currently on loan at West Brom

Hmm....Jozy needs to be surrounded by other smart players who move well off the ball and can pick out the right pass, so maybe Chelsea would be the better fit. But on the other hand, Tottenham really need a forward who passes well and can hold the ball up....

I think Chelsea would be a better fit. But my guess Chelsea will try to buy Falcao.

none of that crap is credible. stuff that those papers put out is like listening to the national enquirer. total crap. jozy souldnt leave, that would be the dumbest move. he would only sit the bench and get playing time every once in a while. he needs to finish out a full season and should probably play there for another, with him constantly scoring goals, to prove that he is ready for that next level. hes still young and has time.

Meh...

Jozy was just at a "Big Club" in Villarreal and he ended up going on loan 3 times.

What exactly is wrong with him staying at AZ?

Fair enough, but jozy has significantly improved since leaving Villarreal.

I see Jozy leaving in the summer to a bigger club. Now which club that may be is anyones guess, but AZ would like to cash in on Altidore. Thats how a club like AZ works.

He signed a contract with AZ for 4 years, so my guess AZ will actively shop Altidore the rest of the season where they will hope to pull a significant signing fee for him around the 8 to 10 million dollar range. Reports say that Rubin Kazan bid for Altidore this past summer in the 7 miilion dollar range, but the bid came in to late for AZ and Jozy to seriously consider it. Anyways thats my guess is that come summer transfer window Jozy will be sold.

Nothing wrong with him staying at AZ for another year. Personally, I wouldn't want his jump to a bigger league to be too big. Yeah, I would agree that Tottenham would be a better choice than Chelsea but would he really play? Defoe's doing well, Adebayor's making strides back to being his old self, and of course there's Deuce. Not to mention other potential targets that AVB could bring in.

I'll probably catch all manner of hell for this, but I think (should he leave this January or this summer) he should go to a Championship team in England. He had a loan stint at Hull when he was with Villareal and was decent at best. If he has a good year at one of those clubs, I think he ups his stock and appeals more to some of the bigger clubs. Again, just an opinion though.

Didn't know about Kazan bidding - wouldn't hate him for going there. Who knows? Maybe a big club buys him and loans him out to a decent team (see Lukaku).

Jozy's success at AZ is great but the defenses in the Eredevisie aren't that good. If he wants to take the next step as a player he needs to move to a tougher league.

He wouldn't get playing time at Tottenham (and definitely not at Chelsea) but I think a team in Ligue 1 would be a perfect fit for him.

Let's face it, as well as he is doing at the club level he is not cutting it for the national team. His game still has a long way to go and he needs a change if he wants to develop further and improve other aspects of his game. He's not young anymore, 23 isn't young for a striker.

I wanted to mention France in my earlier post - completely agree. Several prominent strikers have done well in the Ligue and have moved on to be bigger forces in bigger leagues.

This rumor was sparked by Earnie Stewart's comments that big clubs come to watch AZ all the time. He mentioned Spurs, Chelsea, Barça, and Bayern if I'm not mistaken. Although the comments he made were in response to a question about Jozy, it was a dutch Q&A session and I don't think it was ever confirmed 100% that he was saying all those clubs have come to watch Jozy.

thank you! There is absolutely nothing wrong with him staying. Am I wrong but hasn't the Eridivise (sp?) one of the best develop leagues in the world?
