Richie Williams called up a yank from Europe for the 2012 Nike International Friendlies, he plays for Fulham FC and a grandson of Schellas Hyndman of FC Dallas.

Thats cool. I was wondering when he would get a call-up. What I like about Williams is that he is not neglecting players outside of Bradenton.

Why must his mother be Salvadorean? Just curious... I know he has a Portuguese passport, which is why he is over in England.

He will play for the USA if he's good enough.

I'd be interested to see how physically mature he is. That was always an area of concern is how he developed once he began to fill out

Any reviews on how he did? Did he start or come on as a sub?

Subbed on in the 81st min, don't know how well he did tho.. He is at the point were he should be making the transition into playing for the reserves lets hope it continues.

From what I've been told previously (in reference to Shea playing for Stoke's "u21s"), the u21 name is used interchangeably with reserve.

So him getting subbed in so late was (probably) really just a test to make sure he didn't panic from the off. I'd expect to see a much earlier sub in next time, 60th or so, at least a couple of times before even being considered for a starting spot.

Long ways to go but the kid's got loads of potential and lots of time to make it happen...can't wait to see how he turns out. I expect he'll be on the 2022 squad, but by then we'll be so stacked in the midfield it's anyone's guess who'll make the squad.

If Fulham gets relegated this year (not unlikely) then they'll have a mass exodus of veteran players and he may have a chance to crack the game day 23, maybe even dress for games. Then if Fulham makes it back into the EPL he could be an 18-20 year old EPL starter come 2018. It may not be likely but its on the table for him.

I've never rooted for anyone to be relegated, but if this isn't a damn good reason to start, I don't know what is...

I'm really curious as to how the u21/reserve leagues work over there, because the "u21 Premier League" has several lower league teams, including Reading, Bolton and Middlesboro among others. I'm really glad that they're taking a chance on giving him some minutes, considering they're at the tippy top of the table (4 points clear).

Scored a penalty in a 2-2 draw. Second goal.

A big question for U.S. fans heading into the World Cup is surely on Jozy Altidore and just what is plaguing the young striker at Sunderland.
