Even though Hannover lost big today and Ribbery had a huge game Cherendolo can't be faulted for it (imo). He handled Ribbery well on his side, even with zero help from his midfield partner. Ribbery had to come inside a lot to be successful, which meant Mandzukic slid to left wing and Stevie marked him out of the game.

All that to say Stevie still has it. Ribbery is top 3 left wings in the world right now. I would take him every day of the week and twice on Sunday over Christina Ronaldo.

Personally I would take Jermaine Jones over Ronaldo... but seriously, Cherundolo is the best right back to ever put on the usmnt jersey. Hes still got it. No doubt.

Even if Chandler decides to put on the US kit in the Hex, I still want to see Dolo at RB. He is still hands down a better 1v1 defender and has a better understanding of the defensive tactics. Sure, Chandler gets forward better but we have given up too many goals during the qualifying matches so I would rather have the pure defender.

Thats what Ribbery does though. He is naturally right footed which means he prefers to cut inside. Ribery is more of a LAM not a winger. You actually want to show Ribery outside not inside because he isn't going to whip in crosses with his left foot. I am sure Dolo played decent. But lets not get carried away.

oh i know all about Ribery because Bayern is my team and I watch 90% of their games. A lot of times he starts out wide and cuts over around the box or nearer the end line but today he had to start (from half field) inside. Oh and yes Ribbery does whip in pretty good crosses.

From what I read Dolo was at fault for one of the goals as well.

there was one where he could have been marking but the entire defense was lost on that one.
