How can a kid in training be worth a USMNT callup? They need to feel like they earned it, not handed it. Exceptions for when we desperately need the help (which has rarely ever been the case).

Generally I would agree with you with the exception of players who are on the books of big clubs. It could be argued that because Pelosi is at Liverpool he is not getting first team chances so his ability to catch JK's eye is diminished.

Does this make him a bad player?...NO, it just makes it difficult to compare him to someone like a Hyndman who get minutes for a lesser team. So if JK wants to give him a look at a training camp then why not.

In my opinion getting called up is not the reward. Getting to play is the reward. Let him come in see how everything goes and how the people ahead of him are playing that way knows what is expected of him.

Not to downplay it, but it's not that big of a deal. BR always brings in 2-4 youth players into training every week.

Not saying it was. Just informing the people, who have been wondering about his progress since the injury, that he has been training with the first team this week.

I agree with that.

And it makes sense to bring in a kid who is highly regarded at Liverpool to come and train with the full USMNT. He is already in England, so what is it going to hurt? Nothing.

To many people get to caught up in the politics of who should or shouldn't get called in. These are friendly games. Invite the kid in, and let him see where he stands compared to lets say an Emerson Hyndman.

And I'm just informing the people that would read too much into that because they don't know any better.

Glad he is back and at least in the conversation again. You never know with bad leg injuries.

If JK does indeed call him in to train might as well call all the other young players in England. Carter vickers, Kyle scott, barbir, the guy from Sunderland who's name I forget, praffit wiiams, zalalem, ect...

Thing is, Pelosi is a 1994 which is a year above Hyndman's age. The only youth team he can play for is the olympics. All those who u listed are either on the u-20 team or below, I mean Barbir really? He's only 16.

Would have to agree with the US call up, no harm in it. It would be like Cropper getting called up to train with the NT. Which we might see happen as well.

Would of loved to see your midfield trio at WC @2tone. Here's another I would of loved to see. Holmes-CAM, Pelosi-CM, Stanko-CDM. That would of been nice.

Is not like they will be called to the full MNT is just to train ect... I mean usa has capped very young players before Jozy 17, Agudelo 17, Adu was very young, Gale ect...

Great to hear about Pelosi, hope he gives Rodgers something to smile about.

It would be great if he was deemed far enough along to be brought in to train with the nats, but I'm just happy he made it back into the conversation after his severe injury...no rush.
